Boiler pressure too high

Options
Hi,
my house is rented out and last time i went there i noticed that the boiler pressure was showing at maximum level 4. I think the tenant may have accidentally knocked the tap which opens the pressure up, as this is on a hose under the worksurface in the kitchen. I haven't touched it because i don't want to make it worse. Can anyone tell me how to reduce the pressure in the boiler? Or do i need to get an engineer out? This is a combi boiler, about seven years old. Used to have it on the british gas maintenance plan but had to cancel it when i lost my job. Last check was about a year ago.

Up at the top left, just anove the green bar saying Threads in Forum : LPG & Heating when you look at the list of threads.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
  • If it is a closed system there should be a relief valve on the cylinder just give it a twist and it should hiss and spit a bit.. Otherwise as above just use a bleed a radiator and if you can see the gauge to shut it off at 2bar then all the better.

The hose under the sink should have two valves to prevent accident fill. So it may be worth being brave and checking. If you increase the pressure again you only need repeat the process. But y shutting both off you can prevent your tenant accidently over charging it.
