what shall i do

I'm a full time msc student and I have no income. My partner is a bus driver on £9.40 an hour with a min of 39 hours a week. We have a 5 year old son.

My partner is at a job interview at the moment for coach driving. It will be 45 hours a week on £8.36.

How can I stop him from taking this?
We can not afford the pay drop. I have no idea why he wants to do this.

What should you do? Talk to your husband? Look for a part time job? Seems a strange thing to ask forum members - if you have no idea why your husband wants to take this job, then how on earth are we likely to know? Much less be able to put forward rationale, logical reasons as to why he shouldn't change jobs!

Of course not. And the rest of my post?

So is your husband supporting you in your studies?

he is financially but not any other way
  • Then you need to organize your time better, is your son at school. Can you not spend an hour or so in the morning doing housework then some time studying?

Can you not see what a mad thing that is to be asking? YOU have said that you have no idea why he is applying for this other job - and you are married to him!!!! To be able to discuss this rationally and coherently you need to know his mindset; why is he planning on changing jobs and taking a pay cut. Until you know that, you have no argument...so how the bloody hell are we supposed to be able to put forward arguments in your favour? Poor guy could have perfectly good reasons for wanting to change jobs.

Righto *rolls eyes*. So don't you think you owe it to him to offer him some support?

Of course you do *rolls eyes again*. Hours and hours and hours eh? Even though your husband is out at work all day and I presume your son is at school? Hours and hours and hours. They must spend all evening every evening making a mess just for you.
