I gte myself in a right little tizz at times... TBH I am stuggling with my memory since baby arrived.. I think its lack of work and hormones.. really losing my ability to count is a bit worrying considering i'm an accountant

It will be lack of sleep and hormones hon. I'm sure once you get in a routine and baby is sleeping a bit better you will be a lot better. Failing that, i write everything in my daily diary and on my calendar. My daily diary is for me and is constantly open on my desk in front of the computer. The calendar is more for a reminder for DH. He looks at it when washing up on a night.
I like my new system a lot. Before it was in place i lived like we used to on 2 salaries. Merrily overpaying and then one month something big would crop up, and i kind of knew it was coming but i had not put any thought into how we would pay it. With 2 salaries there always was enough sloshing round to cover it. This way, once the money has gone to savings, there should be a big enough chunk in there to pay, and if not, well there might be a little bit to help pay it. I feel more confident i am not going to have a run of bad months.0 -
Michelle thats what we are link.. enough cash on a monthly basis to cover the crop up type things and TBH every month there seems to of been something since about October..
DH started to hack back the shrubbery in the garden before spring arrives and it starts to grow again.. I detest IVY!!! anywya discovered the fence under the ivy has never been stained/protected. the shrubs grew over what appeard sto be a load of rocks and near the top the neighbour over there has a water feature and it makes me need a wee.. I also discovered that what I thought was the back with a load of pampas grass is actually not.. we thought the garden was a quadrangle type shape is actually a triangle and we have a triangle shaped raised bed about 6ft big up at the very top.. I need to find out if i can haull our the pampas grass and use the bed straight away this year for some veg/herbs/salad... south facing you see..
Oh and hubby informs me a skip is arriving tomorrow along with some muscle and the garden is being cleared this weekend..MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Sounds like your DH has got the bit in his teeth. We were a bit like that 2 summers ago when we did the decking. Skip came one day, and myself and DH filled it in one day. You should really enjoy the garden this summer. Long days and plenty of space for the kids.
I like seeing a lot of progress in one or two days.0 -
?Yup its just unfortunate that he has found the motivation the weekend before he returns to work!! There is a huge amount of work to be done and i'm not fit enough for it.. Skip is half full but there are alot of trees to come down.. trees are young but have been planted with zero support or consideration to fencing etc so are growing at 45 degree angles up the back so they are being removed before they cause issues.
Sofa shop called.. they can't get the sofa we wanted from supplierso back to the drawing board there..
I think we are owed money from storage firm that we shut the unit when we moved.. They called us day it was emptied to say the was the unit empty and notice expired 2 days later and we used to pay in advance so they would send cheque for monies due and then nothing was received.. we had alot of post issues in my area because royal mail used this to test some new sorting proceedures and between that and the snow it was taking 5 weeks for a 1st class letter to be received but its all back to normal now but no cheque has been received.
Oh and my claim with FSCS for broker issues was settled today... I received a cheque in the post so I popped into town today to bank it.. It was quite MSE because I have a blue badge due to my MS so I found a space in the local council car park which gives free parking to blue badge holders.. I bought the kids 2 books using the tokens they got for world book day/week and I went to peacocks and got 2 tops, a bra, 2 hair bands and 6 pairs of CAT working boot socks for DH for £5.60. I had a £25 gift card i won on twitter while pregnant and they were handing out 40% off vouchers to friends and family and one of the staff was just handing them out to everyone in the queue to checkout.. So overall I did spend money but 3pairs of socks alone at £5 so i'm happy.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
total NSD today... DH continued to get stuck into the garden which is now a huge nightmare.. We have alot more room but lots of ivy and it will take a huge amount of work to get rid of it all without using a chemical killer which i want to avoid. Dodgy trees have been felled and alot more of the fence exposed.. I think i may need to be a bit fast and loose with my dads OAP discount at a local DIY centre and get fence paint as a matter of priority.. I would love to use one of the newer colours of staining like cornflower blue or sage green but the fence is already partly stained in what looks like 'Red Cedar'.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

I've tagged your spam visitor LP. I was very confused about whether you were mystery shopping the car parking space!
Sounds like a great weekend - made me think I should stain our fence too - when I'm back at work I think!Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Gardens can be never ending once you start. We need to stain the decking again. It was put down 2 summers ago and is looking very faded. Ideally we need to get it done before the first May bank hols as that is when we have a big family BBQ for DS2s birthday. We also have trees to prune back, weeds to pull.
I am wondering when i should start this years war with the dandelions. It is much better than last year, but still some way to go. It is starting to feel very spring like now with the speed the grass is growing.
I can't wait till my dad is an OAP. I will be dragging him to BnQ myself to buy stuff like this.
My to do list expands every time i turn round and see something else.0 -
My to do list is ever expanding too.. Nothing much doing here. Dh back at work so we are both shattered.. Some of my tracked things in quidco have been received.. its a fair amount so i'm looking forward to next payout..MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

Electricity bill in... averaging 14.5kw a day... Not sure if thats good or bad but thats from 10th December to 26th Feb.. On thinking about it considering its winter and I have been at home with kids all day plus livingroom and kitchen both have halogen lights rather than low energy bulbs then it could probably be alot worse.. I do thik i need to look at changing light fittings downstairs though. We have one in the livingroom and 2 in the kitchen of the following plus some down lighters set into kitchen units.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000
