Add to that OH car insurance renewal is in.. not goot reading, £698 a year.. I can't remember what it was last year but is was a small deposit then 11 monthly payments of £38.18. since then we have moved to a house, car is now kept on a drive not the street and he as 8 years no claims bonus.. Its a vauxhall diesel estate so not exactly a hot hatch.. comparison engines are quoting around the £450 mark so I feel a switch coming on. Mines is also due end of March, I have a few quid tucked away for it but if its higher than last year I pay have to either dip other savings/budgets or pay it monthly. Add that to the cost of 6 months tax on the new car and eekkkkk.
I have still not paid my parents back.. my dad managed to break his bank card for I gave him £300 on saturday but he doesn't want the rest transferred until he gets a new bank card just in case he needs cash for something. Its not easy to get into his bank and its the only account they haveMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Hi LP
You sound as busy as usual!
I wouldnt like a leather sofa either, friends of ours and my grandparents had one and it was always freezing cold to sit on! We always ended up sitting on a throw on the sofa anyway so where's the sense in that?? Although I suppose a leather sofa is wipe clean.......:)
DH has been off with me today as he is tomorrow as well which is great. We also got a £75 refund from the Dollar car hire from our holiday last year, only took 5 months of e-mails to get it ! Never going with Net flights or Thomas Cook again.
We are also trying to decide where to go on hols next year, we just cant seem to make a decision. Staying home this year, going to see the rellies in Cornwall for a week in August but thats it. Need somewhere hot for Feb 2012!!KimmyCustard :j0 -
We've got a leather sofa and I still can't keep it clean :rotfl:. The cat has still managed to scratch it and it's freeeeezing to sit on. I really want to buy a new suite but ours is only 4 years old so not going to happen any time soon.
Don't forget cashback when you shop around for car insurance.0 -
see thats the problem.. ours is leather currently but it reclines and is soo uncomfy, it has cat scratches, the leather is cracking at the seams and it is a mix of either freezing to sit on or sticky. as a result we sit on throws and scatter cushions so on that basis I want fabric or maybe a fabric/leather mix.. i like this http://www.scs.co.uk/product/fabric-sofas/kula-3-seater-sofa-standard-back/ or http://www.scs.co.uk/product/fabric-sofas/dino-3-seater-sofa-standard-back/MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

I like the second sofa, that looks really comfy. I hate buying sofas as they have to last you for years and they are such an expense as well as a hassle to buy.0

If you and DH like it, then why not go for it. After all, you are the one who has to be comfy on it.
I personally can't wait for my new one to arrive. I have had to sit on ours more since the kids have been ill, and all i can say is that i am shocked DH did not drag me off to buy one a lot sooner.
We got 10% deposit, then £50 per month for 41 months at 0%, which in the grand scheme of things is not a lot. We took out an insurance with that too where they come out and fix it if the cat or the kids do something to it, and if it can't be fixed the whole thing gets replaced. I also bought a cleaning kit from them. Thought to myself i am paying so much it seems churlish not to spend £20 on the recommended cleaning product.
Have you had chance to sit on it?
We found we liked the one we got online, so we went to the shop to make sure we were sure. When we actually sat on them, most of the others were actually not that comfy as your bum was not at the back of the sofa so you were really sat slouched. Worth making sure it is definitely what you want.
And if your other one is slightly ok, ie not cat scratched, no padding and broken zips etc like ours, you could even try selling yours. You could do a me and list on ebay for 99p but they must collect.Mine is most definitely for the landfill, which seems a shame, but can't be helped.Seems though it was my mums old one nearly 7 years ago, it has had enough reprieve. :rotfl:
