What would you say if it was just a family with several kids? Why should what vehicles they park make any difference?

Would you buy next to a house where two white vans parked up on the drive and in front of the house each night?

Would you buy a house where the neighbours took up half the road with their cars?

It's going to put some people off - and a minibus isn't a normal size vehicle. On our street a man has one for his work and he doesn't park it outside his own house because it annoys him looking at it.

If the neighbours are doing things in accordance with the council then I dont think you have much opportunity get them to change.
Have you spoken to your neighbour about this at all?

Sounds like you may need to drop the price further to find the current value of the property. Either that or you may have a long wait, risking the market falling more.

Don't get me started on the monkies who think it's alright to drive along the pavement whilst waiting for their kids either.

Come on, be fair - it's the only time they get to take their Chelsea Tractor off-road :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The best solution is to explain to viewers that they are lovely neighbours, you get on with them really well and the vehicles are not a problem.

(They do park off road don't they?)
  • God this sounds a horrible situation to be in - I would run a mile if I saw a house full of kids on a viewing. Nightmare! I like abit of peace & quiet..

This is tough luck I'm afraid, quite frankly your council has done the right thing in dropping the case, it is far better for wider society that people are able to run profitable businesses to keep the country moving than one person maintains every penny of what they think their house should be worth. Houses are an asset like any other, their value is subject to external influences and that's what's happened here. All you can really do is reduce the price to a level somebody will be willing to pay taking everything into consideration.

I'd not buy next to noisy children. I do have a good reason for this too as the noise levels make me want to scream and hit things. I have extra-super-sensitive hearing to certain frequencies and it puts me into "distress" when I'm around those noises .... and kids are one of them.

Same - I've got very strong reasons meaning I wouldn't do it either (not noise in my case). Doesn't make you a bad person - just makes you someone who wants to live away from noises that might irritate and distress you... rather than causing conflict on both sides. Seems like the sensible option to take really.
