Cant sell house due to neighbours business

We have had our house on the market for 6 months now and are trying to sell due to being relocated with my husbands work. We have already reduced our house price twice (35k in total) and can't really afford to reduce again. The problem we are having is our neighbours (who are currently renting) are running a childminders business in their house and although this in general is not a problem they keep 2 large people carriers and a school mini-bus outside thier house. To date we have had 3 second viewings where they have point blankly said no due to the state of next door and business being run there. Can anyone offer any advice or help on what we can do?
The council have been consulted and as they have agreed to reduce the numbers kept at the house, they have droped the case and decided planning permission not required.
We just don't see why people who are renting can reduce the value of our house and prevent a sale when we really need one!

It appears what the neighbours are doing is perfectly above board, so nothing youy can do. Thats life.
Your house will sell at the right price.0 -
Do the neighbours have a drive which they use or are they parking on the road.
Without being dishonest (and perhaps getting caught out by people doing drive bys to look) and asking the neighbours to remove their vehicles until you've sold I can't think of anything else.
A minibus?
How many kids do they mind?0 -
I want to ban all on road parking and all pavement parking, everywhere in the country. Image how tidy our roads and streets would be without all those ugly cars and trucks everywhere !
Figure out a way for me to do that and you'll be sorted!0 -

I'm with you.
I think parking cars on the roads, half on pavements, blocks the view and makes roads less safe.
And I would execute people who park on the zigzags outside schools.
And houses with no drives wouldn't be allowed cars...
Oh heck I'm really extreme in my dislike of cars parked everywhere0 -
Are you on good terms with the neighbours? Perhaps you could get them to move the vehicles somewhere around the corner when you have viewings booked?0

why should "renters" not be allowed to run their own business to earn their money like anyone else.....0

I wonder if they have permission to run a business from their LL. Must do if the council etc are involved.:A

Agree.
However, my rental agreement (which looks like a standard contract) states expressly that I am not to carry out any business activities in the house, especially if it involves parking a mini-van outside and two people carriers.
Grossly unfair, in my view, but I was surprised to read that OP's neighbours could do that.0 -
Ahh many thanks for your replies. Please don't get me wrong I am not trying to be awkward, I am just trying to sell my house. And it is upsetting that we can not sell because of next door. I have no problem with the business and they are doing really well, it is just that people do not want to move next to a house full of kids I guess and see 3 great big vehciles outside the property. I agree all houses will sell for the right price but do not see why mine should be loosing value because of this. Many thanks again for comments.0
