FB had some security breach issues; i don't have fb, I only have a look at my husband's or friends' when they are at it, so my understanding could be wrong. Apparently FB has something called applications whcih inadvertently gave away personal details although it wasn't designed to. Likewise wondering if there have been any of these new applications, like for instance whilst reporting considering we have our names and email id's already set up within the forum, on this newlook that is causing any security issues. It seems FB disabled and also removed several applications.

Still no verified emails from 2010

Just to say we've still not received any verified emails from people who joined in 2010

We've had a good number of people who tell us its happened. Yet very few who've sent us any details.

Of those who have sent the details, there joining date is actual been earlier than they thought.

Or the email forwarded wasn't the malware one (it was a legitimate one from the moneyexpert website which wasn't sent to the forum name)

I wanted to update you on this - so you can see the kind of issues we're having in trying to track this down.

I received the spam email to my forum name purporting to be from MSE, I was suspicious, but luckily my computer blocked it.
I hope MSE can track this down very quickly.

I got the spam email too. Luckily I knew about this thread first so I didn't open it.

I haven't received one, but when i was having problems with "Automated Wealth Package", i received a private message with 2 links on it, unfortunately i clicked on both without thinking, then i got to thinking it may be carrying a virus.

Can i cut & paste the message on here with the persons details on as well please?

So at least it can be looked at.

I got this email! Hotmail sent it straight to junk mail, though, so I didnt notice it until I checked.

I said yesterday I'd not had one of these emails, but I wasn't looking at the right account. Received one yesterday at 13.03, from same email with same content as everyone else.

I'm not a technical person but that seems -- so far! -- to narrow down whatever security breach occurred to the 2009 problem.

It is a shame though that some people haven't verified because MSE members really should be doing what they can to help. It's obviously in all our interests, even people lilke me who only joined this year.
