I gave a 'queen' a lift once - nice feller -but that is a different story.:D
Let's face it, the Windsors and happy/everlasting marriages do not exactly go hand in hand so to speak.
I would have thought that betting would now be available on how long the marriage will last!
The OP's post was spot on and we are going to get this 'happy event' rammed down our throats.
Personally, I could not give a toss, but why the taxpayer should pay for the wedding is beyond me - I mean, the Windsors are hardly short of a bob or two.
And as for the Cameron and co. stating that we have some 'good and uplifting news' in difficult times, well try telling someone who is out of work and struggling to keep a roof over the heads of their families. I am sure they will take comfort from the fact the country will be funding the event!0 -
I must say that i'm glad that they are getting married as we need some new tea towelsIf At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

I agree, but the first eight pages in today's Times, most of the TV news and the tabloids just full of the stuff? You can have too much of a good thing. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

But it is big news.. In fact its that big that it ran on just about every countries main news programme yesterday. That in turn will excite the foreigners who will flock here on the sniff of a royal wedding and buy lots of tat!!
they will also import it so good for us again..
It will die down i promise :rotfl:one of the famous 50 -

Hilarious!!! :T
I cant fathom how taxpayers should pay for this. Its bad enough in any other climate, but given the country's tightening of the belt, I feel its completely insensitive and ugly. I feel there is something wrong in society - the disproportionate amount of wealth the royals have is quite sickening (given their expensive education, I dont believe ANY of the royals have ever achieved over a 'B' grade in A Levels - so not the brightest bunch - and therefore I cannot quite equate their 'worth' to society). Why do people unquestioningly accept this? If there is another days holiday, I will lose work that day and, quite frankly, I couldnt give a cats !!!! about their marriage - I wish them, as I would ANYONE, good luck. End of. They are 2 complete strangers to me - why would I need to celebrate (or FUND their probable multi million pound marriage paritially or fully -)? I honestly cant get my head around the royal family. Its wrong - morally and socially. Sadly, I dont think I can opt out... Rant over:money: Saving money, saving the environment and saving space (aka decluttering) - my motto this year!0
