  • Now we should really batten down the hatches. If they've decided that these two need to breed, the powers that be must know some pretty awful things are lined up for the British public (not the million/billion/squillionaires in power, obviously) in the next 3 - 5 years. Why else would we all be given a bunch of bank holidays and be expected to throw hopelessly jingoistic parties in the streets?

Royal Wedding, Jubilee and probably a sprog in the pipeline = we're really up S**t Creek.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    Totally agree.

The powers that be will be thinking, well The X Factor is going down the pan, what else can we do to keep the prole's minds off things, if they cared in the first place !, oh, i know, let's have a royal wedding.

I hope there is severe precipitation on the day.

The readers of The Sun, Hello and other such rags will lap it up, being of limited intelligence.

Seriously, who cares? Literally, who cares?
  • The only up-side I can see to this "story" is that we might get an extra public holiday out of it.

and why do they need tto send a reporter to that very spot its not like we dont know where kenya is
Because there are a lot of people in this country who want to know where it hapenned and how it hapenned. Now whilst im not a full blown royalist i'm also not some bitter person bemoaning someone (including those who follow the royals and their heritage of this country) their happiness at this news.

I suggest you dont buy a newspaper for the next few days either

I'm happy at the news and my facebook status offers my congratulations to William and Kate (not that I have either of them on my friends list.. ;) ) However, I'm not convinced that it's the best use of my TV licence fees to have a reporter broadcast from Kenya - surely a map of Africa that zooms in to Kenya would have done the trick?

The bbc though will already have a reporter or an aphilliate out there though so its not like they paid for a flight today for them.

Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not bitterly bemoaning how others get their kicks, whether they're peerophiles or not (peerophiles: those who spend their time peering into the lilves of others because they've got booger-all of a life themselves.) What I'm p!$$ed off about is being lumped in with 'em by a lackspittle national media.

Apparently the TV schedules were stuffed full last night with every possible permutation of febrile fandom: Katy and William, Kate and William, Will and Kate, as if we're all on first-name terms with this pair of obscurities and they with us.

As for not buying a newspaper for a few days, as like as not the best protection against nausea is not to buy a newspaper for many months and avoid all TV news bulletins as well until the peerophiles have been sated.

Following on from what Jojo and Driver said, it makes you realise just how easy it still is to distract people worried about bread by giving 'em a circus instead.

I don't blame any political party in any democracy for taking advantage of the very large shovel handed to them by a moronic media. How sad for the BBC lunchtime news today though: the flooding in Cornwall had to knock the Windsor-Middleton thing from top slot into second position. Whereas Sky shoved it so far down the news agenda it was easily avoided.

William's not 'carrot haired'. You're thinking of the other one.
