I don't, because I have it in my head that Toothsmith usually says not to.:)
iirc it's better not to rinse the toothpaste off, as it's more beneficial to keep the flouride in the toothpaste in contact with your teeth for as long as possible.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Sublime, how much salt to water do you use for your salt mouthwash? Am thinking this would help my problems too.0

I was prescribed Corsodyl when i was pregnant and only rarely use it now, usually after eating something sweet during the day or just to freshen up.0

Mouthwash seems to burn my tongue (if that makes sense!) so I hate using it. I was advised by my dentist to use Corsodyl after brushing my teeth so I still do, but never really thought about it undoing all the good work that brushing does.0

I no longer rinse my mouth out with water after cleaning my teeth as my dentist said it takes away the effect of the Sensodyne.0 -
I have sensitive gums and my dentist has recommended that I use Cordsyl original mouth wash only when my gums are sore and just use toothpaste for the rest of the time. I have just bought some Dentyl for daily use as I used to use that before and it does make my mouth feel fresher but it gets expensive keeping up with two mouth washes. Is it necessary to use one all the time? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If your dentist has recommended you use a particular mouthwash, then it doesn't really matter what everybody else does, or what other people, who aren't dentists and haven't seen your mouth use or recommend.
I am not a fan of general 'breathfreshening' antibacterial mouthwashes - but I do recommend particular mouthwashes for particular patients if I think they have a condition that will be helped by it.
Go by what your dentist recommends, not the internet herd! How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I used Corsodyl for a while when my dentist recommended it but did find it really stained my teeth (I think my teeth are a bit porous anyway!), but I do use Listerine every day now. I used to suffer from sensitive teeth and sore gums and I found it seemed to help - bit confused now after reading all the above posts as I'm getting the impression I don't really need to use any mouthwash?DFW by end of June 2016...!
