Does everyone use a mouthwash?

I think that flossing is more important than mouthwash. Ever since I discovered the Wisdom Floss Sticks, it's been wonderful, because I've finally discovered how to floss without torturing my fingers (very thin skin).

I have sensitive gums and teeth too, the dentist originally recommended Corsodyl but it tasted vile, didnt help my gums and absolutly wrecked my teeth with staining that took ages and a lot of hard work to get off, I started using 3% hydrogen peroxide as a mouth wash twice daily keeping it in my mouth for at least 5 minutes at a time and within a couple of weeks my gums were normal (dentist was amazed and suggested that I carry on) my teeth were whiter and my purse was heavier becuase it only cost 85p per bottle - hth:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I just sprinkle some in the bottom of a glass, and add some warm water. I've never measured it, but its just a sprinkling with a little water. Just so it tastes a bit salty. Adjust the amount to suit yourself.
Its surprisingly effective, but very gentle.0 -
I usually use mouthwash or a salt rinse due to the piercings in my mouth, so I like ot keep them and my gob clean, the salt rinse I do every 2 weeks and the mouthwash every day** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

I floss, then brush with euthymol (sp?) toothpaste, then around 5 mins later use mouthwash. Listerine at the moment, but dont' ask me which flavour!
My dentist told me to use floss and mouthwash though, so I go by thatcarpe diem

I have problem gums and use Corsdyl mouthwash and gel when they are very sore.
At other times if I want to use mouthwash I use Retardex or Listerine sensitive.0 -
This dentist doesn't use a mouthwash
They have their place and the one I recommend varies from person to person depending on what they need for their own health. I do not feel they are worthwhile routinely.
Corsodyl is good For some things but I intensely dislike it when people decide they want to use it long term, proper brushing and interdental cleaning is far more important to dental health.
Fluorigard is good for other things but to be honest you get just as much benefit from supermarkets own brand and there is no point at all in using it after you brush cause you have just brushed fluoride containing paste all over your teeth, what do you hope to achieve by swishing more over them?
I like Peroxyl for ulcers etc as it has a fizz that lifts debris off the sore spots, but again you don't really need to pay for Colgates nice packaging and flavouring, it's only a Hydrogen peroxide formulation after all.
Save your pennies from the mouthwashes and buy tepe's instead0 -

I use tepes, two sizes, one for my back teeth and one for the front, they are good, easier to use than floss.0 -
I used to use Dentyl until that time they withdrew it from the shops - I tried it a couple of times afterwards but I think they changed the formula and i didn't like it as much
Don't use anything now and don't miss itDownshifted

I dont use mouth wash either FWIW. Occasionally i`ll have a swish with some listerine as I like the smell of it
Brush/clean properly and in general terms you shouldnt need a mouthwash ...unless recommended one by someone such as a dentist who thinks you DO need it0
