I use Virgin P.A.Y.G as a spare phone.

I find the signal isn't as good as my main o2 phone. (they piggy back on Tmobile)

The customer service is a bit hit n miss, an online enquiry can take a week for a reply and can still be vague. Cust service phone lines are dependant on who you get to speak to.

I wouldn't choose them as a main phone.

My mate works for virgin media and gets a cheap phone let's just say if it was not so cheap he would not have it.
The signal is appalling constantly misses calls.

Might be better to go through t-mobile.

My signal has alwys been very good, and you now get the option to use calls through the orange transmitter area.

I've had a decent experience with Virgin Mobile so far, but my reception can be a little inconsistent at times. I'd recommend you shop around before making a commitment; Virgin Mobile is okay, but there are definitely better alternatives.

At the moment they have a really poor choice of phones.

I have just finished one contract as they had nothing good and the only offer was to go on a sim until January when some new phones come in.

On a positive note I asked if they would match there £10 sim with Tesco's offer of 500 m and 500 texts on another phone I have.
They just increased my £10 sim to £20 deal. So 800 mins unlimited texts and internet so not all bad.

i have been with virgin mobile since 2003, and i would say there customer service is excellent,

get a payg phone and i recommend the addict tariff, £10 gets you 300 texts a month, £15 gets your 600 texts a month and £20 top up gets you unlimited texts (max 3000) and 1gb of mobile internet, and you also get to keep your top up wether its £10, £15 or £20 top up

you also get 10% off all your top ups towards a new mobile when you register online.

Many thanks for all the comments, personally I think they are good value product and even Blackberry is on offer for existing Virgin customers (not mobile).

Have not made up my mind yet though.
