  • Cook the cat! Or feed it to the dog.
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...
  • i'm a mathematician, but that is neither here nor there.

You are right, it's not. Out of interest, what was your PhD thesis on and where did you study?
The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes.
  • Hi1
My owner and I often share dinner, unless, after a wee licking, I find the spices not to my taste. It never done me any harm, nor has she ever been unwell because of it.
We also share ice-cream, but I don't like chocolate flavour.
Hope you eat the lamb and enjoyed every bit of it.
    :D
  • Absolutely. Eat the lamb, cook the cat :rotfl:
  • An old friend of mine bought some pork loins for her husbands dinner. The went missing and she found her cat had taken the meat, chewed some of it and left the rest in their litter tray. She rinsed it off, cooked it and served it up anyway. He commented favourably on the crispy coating but survived the ordeal. He never knew about it and suffered no ill-effects. Pork is far more dodgy than lamb is, anyway. I'm guessing that the meat - having been chewed, spat out and trampled into the cat litter far outweighs a little lick so I think you'd be perfectly safe just shaving that bit off and making the cat's day. You could always just stick the joint back in the oven to kill off any germs. Who's to say a fly hasn't landed on it after tramping on doggy plother, anyway? A little bit of bacteria is actually good for us, if everything was sterile then we'd be unable to live through even mild infections. Just remember to not leave food uncovered in future :)

I don't have to worry about my cat where meat is concerned, she much prefers Quorn.
  • Just scorch the licked bits well on the hob to kill the germs......
  • I would never give my cat Iams or Hills, as you say it is quality that counts, and neither of them are quality cat foods.

I've actually fed my cat with both brands for over 15 years - Iams first for a couple of years and then changed to Hills. She's now 16 1/2 and obviously I don't want to jinx anything so all I'll say is she happily boxes the dog's ears on a regular basis :)
  • Get it eaten and live dangerously! Dump oh hes a wimp! Dread to think what he may have touched before putting his fingers on food !!

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger .

Chrissie55 has it right - scorch (maybe) and enjoy - but don't tell the guests ! What the eye don't see , the heart don't grieve about .

As an aside...one morning I found my son (at 2 y.o.) sitting by the cat's bowl having enjoyed an early breakfast . On phoning Casualty I was advised pet food was probably safer than what we get from tins...
The cats would have had theirs the night before , so I've no great worries now about sharing (but still wouldn't encourage it) .

Just give it a rinse and pop it back in the oven to finish off anything lurking - after all it was more dangerous before you cooked it anyway.
    Gnasher

THEN - I would sit down in front of OH and eat it very very slowly........................................
