Never had a problem with mine and I've just got the rest of the family one before our trip to Os. Hope there isn't going to be a problem.0

Also never had a problem but I can see it happening in a non chip/pin country. So with a trip coming up soon and to have a back up I have just applied online for the new Post office card.0

I personally have never had a problem in the past with a Nationwide CC, however this seems to be a new issue, so would be grea to hear reports from people who've used their Nationwide CC abroad very recently."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

That's mentioned in the link to flyertalk.
I'm going on Saturday and have rung Nationwaide.
Basically do NOT let the retailer 'swipe' the card as it blocks it.
If your card gets blocked then (as in UK)
Go to any ATM
log in using your PIN
Go to menu option PIN Services (or similar)
Option to RESET should be there. Reset the PIN
Went to US in August and had no problems all retailers had PIN machines0 -
Mine's always worked with no problems. Mind you, I usually just use it at ATMs while abroad and pay cash for meals etc.0

So, what was the point of your post then?0

Well I have got a nationwide current account which I opened because I am off to Canada and I would prefer to withdraw money from an ATM over there rather than carry large amounts of money about. I hope I dont have a problem.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090

Hi all
We've just returned from Costa Blanca in spain and had differing success with our Nationwide Credit Card. the first few days fine then sometimes we had to sign after having put in PIN number and once it was refused completely and we had to use another card. We wondered if perhaps our payment hadn't gone through and Nationwide had cancelled the card but used it the next day fine - it seemed to vary from establishment to establishment but could be difficult if this is the only credit card you take!0
