Whipped them all soundly, and sent them to bed. A nation of child haters.

All children have tantrums. The ones who realise that their tantrums will get them what they want will carry that on until it no longer works.

Yes. Or until they realise it doesn't work and never worked.

Missmoneypenny's children never had tantrums at all, however.

"Lucylucky, how can you not read something and then condemn it?"

Your opening line, which I read, set the tone for me.
Inaccurate rubbish, I had no need to read further in order to make a judgement.

And no I did not read the rest of your OP.
I posted already that I had not and I have still not done so.

"I expect that, in spite of the fact that you don't actually read posts before commenting, you read it somewhere else, used more aptly by a poster significantly more clever than you."

I commented on the part I read, you seem to have some trouble understanding that.
As the part I read was unadulterated rubbish that is what I commented upon.

Do your posts appear elsewhere that I might have inadvertently stumbled across them?

Which particular poster are you suggesting is "more clever" (sic) than myself?

OK. I can accept that you didn't read the body of what I wrote, what I find odd is that you think that qualifies you to criticise it and that you keep popping up to say so. It is like refusing to eat in a restaurant because you don't like what they've named it, your choice but how can you criticise the food? For all you know, the body of my text might refute what is in the opening line, it doesn't, but it is not an unprecedented device for a writer to use. Lucy, as you are so simple, let me state for you that I do not literally think that we are a nation of child haters, it was a deliberately emotive line. Sheesh.

At this point Lucy, as you failed to do me the courtesy of reading my post before expressing an opinion, I shall refrain from responding to any further posts of yours. It is like playing this game, but without the fun:

I have edited post #42 to clear up your confusion.

Although, dogs (in general) seem to love being pets.

I personally see a lot of validity in the more recent theories of animal lead domestication. Not for farm animals: even sheep are unlikely to pick being eaten as a form of suicide, but for domestic animals.

But you still imply that tantrums are caused by bad parenting which is just not true, or perhaps you think that badly parented children are prone to tantrums whereas well parented children are not.

You're big on guessing what others are saying, yet seem to dislike it intensely when others do this for you. Curious.

Where have I expressed dislike? Intense dislike even?

    Perhaps I should have inferred.

I don't make many spelling mistakes, congratulations on spotting one. By doing so you have debunked my whole post and I shall resign from teaching immediately. That is a typo. Nothing is copied and pasted, how very dare you.

And the apostrophe replaces the missing letters in a contraction - isn't. Are you a mere mortal too? If you are going to pick up on someone's spelling and call it sloppy, you might at least make sure that in doing it that you get yours right. Three question marks, its instead of it's, and a lower case s for sloppy when it begins a sentence! Abysmal!

    Sloppy!

    Some toddlers don't.

However in the case of one of my nephew's he made up for it when he was a teenager.

You seem to forget that people however old they are, are not the same.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p
