Just buy the cheaper house? If you are there thinking hmm well the other one is nicer and we'd like that - then I think you have your answer!
I looked at about 20 properties in a 2 week period when buying, we ended up buying a more expensive one, was it overpriced? Well we liked it so much more than the others, we'd always have regretted not buying it and seeing as we could stretch, we did. Still came in 5% under the asking price. The more we liked a house, in general, the more expensive it was - which was kinda common sense really.
Having said that we saw some properties that were even more expensive and were inferior to ours, the agents were explaining why they were priced in that region and it was things that didnt really interest us, so it was easy to skip on past those - they sold eventually though, but then 2/3 bed houses in my area have really dried up, only 1 or 2 for sale now compared to the 20 we saw last Nov!Debt: a bloomin big mortgage
all posts are made for entertainment value only, nothing I say should be taken as making any sense and should really be ignored0 -

Both us and an identical house went up for sale at £279k and both sold, now a few months later another identical one but with no conservatory has gone up for £315k,it could have gone up that much in 3 months!!!
It just won't sell!!!
So, all the time they have been living there: cooking, washing, watching TV, using the toilet, bath, shower etc they reckon their house has been gaining £387.00 in value every day since the last identical property sold and thats what some mug should pay them for the privalege!

Just goes to show it depends what people will pay. Some people aren't desperate to sell and will leave on the market till it goes, others want to get moving so will put on at a "realistic" price to sell. Everyone's circumstances are different.0 -
