Underpaid Postage

So I received what I assume was a birthday card this morning and it has a yellow sticker on it saying the postage was underpaid and the fee to pay was £1.10. I've found in the past, if you get a card for unpaid posage, and ignore it, you tend to get the letter eventually anyway without paying the fine.
Might be postie specific though.
