Underpaid Postage

They seem to have waived the underpayment recovery over THIS Christmas (probably due to the weather and their failure to meet any of their delivery targets), hence you luckily received the birthday card and not a card requesting the fee is paid before they deliver the card.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0

It's not a "license to print money"! Good grief, postage is insanely good value at 41p to carry a letter to any address however remote in the country within a day or so.
When this was introduced several years ago, I remember having to collect mail, paying the handling fee, and finding it was a commercial catalogue - I called them up to rant, the guy who answered the phone was already apologetic, apparently they had lost a fair few customers demanding to be removed from their mailing list after that!0 -

well it has your address inside then, doesnt it?
most likely the benefit office will have a charge account and the item will be delivered
however it will be delayed
Tax payers money paying peoples postage for them
If like some places they refuse charges then it will go to Belfast. Be opened and then sent back to your office for charge.
to the person who said it was a licence to print money.
how much would RM make in the above scenario?0 -

As custardy says it will almost certainly be delayed so if it is time limited I would suggest you phone the benefit office and see if you can't provide a duplicate.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. we no longer collect underpaid benefit applications from the post office as we were receiving so many per week and paying the pound on each one. So now we tell the PO to return them.

My postie delivers the underpaid ones. I have no idea how he gets away with it but I love him for it0
