TV signal for upstairs bedroom

We have moved house lately and not yet hooked up the TV in the bedroom. There's an ariel cable (old style roof ariel we think) that we were told was probably redundant when we bought the house.
Previous owner had the following setup:-
Sky in main living room (sky plus we think as there's 2 cables)
Virgin broadband and TV in other living room. We use that broadband but have no TV in there.
Bedroom ran from wireless signal sender/receiver from main living room (they took this sender with them).
Ok, we've got a sky dish on the roof we don't use. It's close to the bedroom in question and could probably be wired into that room. I don't see a normal tv ariel, so I assume normal tv is out of the question unless we get a tv ariel etc, and I don't know what happens at the digital switchover.
I'm wondering if we can get freesat or something in the bedroom easily. Would it be better than say using a sender/receiver, I assume with those you can only watch same channel as is on downstairs etc.

Buy a used Sky Digibox for a tenner. Make sure it's working (test at a friend's house). Connect it to the LNB on your dish (plenty of info on sites like SatCure). If your dish etc. is OK, you'll get free TV. (You'll have to buy a £20 card off Sky to get CH5 and a few others but you won't need a subscription.)0

How much does a new digibox cost? I don't really want to buy second hand if I can avoid. Are they still available? What's the LNB? I take it I will need to get someone in for that bit anyway, I can't reach the dish, it's on the chimney, and I think I need to get a wire brought in through the wall etc.0

You're looking over £120 for a standard Amstrad reciever.

LNB is the boxy thing on the end of the dish arm.If the previous owner had Sky+ in then the are 2 spare feeds on the LNB,which has 4 in total.0
