For a dispute, the credit reference agency will contact the lender to get them to resolve the issue. If they don't respond within a reasonable time the agency will remove the mark from your record.0 -

On the online savings accounts, the concept of "available balance" is meaningless - there is only one balance, and that's all available, as you can't deposit cheques.
If you transfer money from an online savings account into an A&L current account, both the "balance" and the "available balance" increase immediately by the amount transferred - not surprising, as the funds transferred are already cleared funds.
But, fairly obviously, that doesn't make them available for a transaction which has already happened - e.g. if I transfer funds now (as I have just done, to prove the point above), it doesn't make them available for a cash withdrawal which I'd already made earlier in the day. Nor (if today was Monday instead of Sunday) would it make the funds available for a DD payment due out on Monday, or a cheque which was due to clear on Monday - as the money for those needed to be in the account by close of play on the previous working day which was Friday.
So, I don't understand how the problem your OH is experiencing is occuring, either.0 -

It wouldn't have even reached the processing centre until Wednesday and would have appeared on your account (but not available) until sometime around mid-day on Wednesday.
If you wrote the cheque on the Thursday, it wouldn't have been cleared against your account until Monday at the very earliest unless it was paid into another A&L account in which case it could, just, have cleared against your account on the Friday and it would then have bounced because the funds deposited by cheque on Tuesday wouldn't have been available for a cheque to clear against until the Monday.
Cheques don't bounce on a Sunday - it's not a banking day.
Ok well whatever- there was clearly a mix-up somewhere
But when I called and spoke to them last monday and said " why is it showing as available now if its not going to be available for me to access till tomorrow, if what you tell me is right" She couldnt answer that and just said I should know when my payments are cleared.
Im backing out of this now, as clearly being pretty much called a liarisnt helpful for anyone. I was just highlighting an issue with the account that I had in case it might be useful for someone else.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
