Hi sweetie, please stop crying!

I was once on a train with my 3 year old daughter on the way home from a lovely weekend in London. We were happily doing a sticker book and she looked at me beaming and said "I wish you would die then I could have a nice mummy". I nearly died of shock and had to brush away a couple of shocked tears until I realised she didn't have a clue what her words meant.

My daughter is now 13 and whenever she has told me she doesn't like me, I just tell her that I love her to bits and always will do.

Ahhh kids, they know where to hit you where it hurts eh?

My DD (3) sometimes says she doesn't love me any more. Funnily enough it's usually when I don't let her have a biscuit or a sweet. Best thing to do is ignore it completely and they soon get bored when they don't get a reaction
