Does anyone else think it would be a good idea to split this forum so that the cookery and recipe tips have a forum of their own?
If I'm over the hill, where was the top?

Good morning! I'll move this from Old Style to the Site Feedback Board once you have some more replies, so that Martin and the team will see it
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Maybe sub boards (or child) under the OS heading?Put the kettle on.0

I don't think there's any need, we have recipe index, and the Grocery Challenge and the stickies give a good account of what to find, where. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

I agree with Jackie, it isnt necessary
its relatively easy to search for recipes - instructions in a sticky at the top of the index - and I've never seen a request for help to find a recipe go unanswered in the years I've been here
we would lose thousands of recipes in OS threads that are on other topics, and that's one of the most valuable resources on OS; I've been indexing the cookery collection for a couple of years, albeit very slowly, and I am still over 3 years behind current posting date at the moment! There's a lot of recipes here!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

another vote to keep, as is
its all relevant, keeping it together makes it a much more valuable resource
i think a lot of people who are interested in OS are also equally interested in the recipes & cookery tips0 -

As a constant lurker I agree with the ladies so far, it works well as it is, no need to meddle for the sake of it
Thanks for a great resource by the way0 -
Too confusing IMO to switch it
Many posts start off with recipies and move on to other topics. And vica versa. The poor board guides would be swapping things about all day long!0 -
I think it's a good idea... or at least to have some indication on the forum main page. Food/cookery is one of the most important things in life, but at the moment it's hidden under the title of old style/thrift.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
I hesitated to post this initially, so as to allow people to give opinions.
This question was asked last year, and Martin wasn't in favour then.
In my capacity as Old Style poster (not Board Guide) I'm not in favour of splitting the board:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
