Hand cut chips turn out very well with this fryer, just like in a deep fat fryer. I have had the same one for nearly 3 years, since I watched a demo in comet at the launch. I have had to replace the lid for £45 about 6 months ago, as the locking mechanism broke, but I use it at least twice a week. If food looks like it is breaking up (scampi), then just remove the wand. The fryer will cook without it, and no harm done. It is worth £109, remember double up and £5 off curry's, and you are sorted.:)

I forgot to say that I rang Consumer Direct to see if they had many complaints re: Actifry before getting mine.

They said they couldn't say tell me cos of Data Protection and they would only log complaints by retailer anyway as contract is with retailers.

They suggested paying by Credit Card for extra protection and Debit Card with possible chargeback. We have the 1 to 6 year possible protection under UK law against E.U. 2 yr.

TESCO put up the price yesterday to £127.00
