i loved mine for chips and chicken nuggets etc...but it packed up last week within the year so i have to wait for argos to get some more in for exchange. would recommend if have spare cash as deep fat scares me senseless and now i can finially cook home made chips.

We've had one since they first came out , but it's a bit like Triggers 10 year old broom (it's had 4 new heads and 5 new handles ).
It's had 2 new clear lids, a new paddle, a new stirrer shaft and a new fan motor.

Having said that, it cooks chicken drumsticks and thighs brilliantly, frozen scampi is ok and we do roast potatoes in it too (but you have to cut them a bit smaller), although we're looking at the new Phillips Airfryer as a replacement next time it dies, cos Airfryer timer actually shuts machine off and it can't be built any more poorly than the Actifry.
THIS says it all, although he did get 34 quid for it. :rotfl:

Mine died soon after warranty expired, as did my sister's. Tefal customer services were not at all helpful. For the cash, the quality is really poor. I thought it was great when I used it, but I could't justify spending that amount again.
Did you buy your spares from Tefal or somewhere else? The lid kept popping up on mine and as far as I remember, it was nearly £35 to replace from Tefal.

I wonder why they are so hit and miss on quality? I have had mine 2 years and its used daily since we got it and have no problem so far. I would be lost without it though now and hope to god that it lasts a while longer now.
    Grocery Challenge - Jan £4.42/£200.00

    Up my income - £124.00/ £11,000.

Mine didn't catch fire but it did make a very loud electricals-exploding type bang and then cease working (this was supposedly after they'd fixed the problems.)

I couldn't return mine as I got it free anyway but... I loved it so much I'd even allocated worktop space for it in my new kitchen (over and above more beautiful things!) even though the old white ones are really ugly.

I'm considering buying one of the new black ones but I would definitely never, EVER leave it unattended!
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10
  • Do the chips made with this machine from real sliced potatoes taste that much nicer than they would if you just sprayed them with frylight and baked them in the oven? I'm another who can't decide whether to get this (or put it on my Christmas list!).

iv had 4! however i wouldnt be without one,my 1st 3 were from argos all taken back within a year of buying, argos were great about it everytime:j 2 of the 3 i took back burnt out the very 1st with sparks! and the last was on its way out,in the end i decided to get my money back and off to currys for the family model which 3 months down the line is doing ok food cooks faster as it has more space and it sounds a lot more powerfull,so hopefully it will last! i have taken out the 3 years guaranty with currys though so anyone buying i would recommend doing this:j
