Do you have to put oil in there for it to work properly? (frozen chip aside)

Even a tablespoon/measure of oil could be high in cals (better than deep fried though)

What does chicken turn out like??

I have used mine without oil, quite a few times and they are fine. My mum and son prefers the thick chips without any oil. I have only tried chicken breasts (cubed) once but it was nice enough and not tough at all.

Im not a frozen chip lover at all and prefer homemade thicker chips etc. Using skinny chips etc makes alot of it break up so if you like the crispy bits you are sorted!

I love mine. I'm on my second one, and that is wearing out after so much use. I needed my double up vouchers for a TV for DD's birthday but if they sell out before I receive them (still waiting 4 days later) I'll buy this instead. Thanks OP.

It is the same price at Tesco Direct and also part of the Double Up voucher scheme. I have just ordered one using £50 of vouchers (doubled up to £100) and paying £9. I have been tempted to get one for a while, but they are so expensive and as you say get mixed reviews. I have plenty of clubcard vouchers I want to use up before the rewards scheme changes so have used some of them on this.

How do you double up clubcards for buying online.

I thought you could only get it done instore ?

Do you mind if I ask how they refunded the voucher part of your order? Did you get the e-vouchers back, refund of points onto next clubcard statement or even .... a cash refund??? TIA

    Hi,
it was a cash refund which I did question the CS lady about but she told me thats the only way she could do it.

If you go into the clubcard section of the tesco site you can change your tokens into E-vouchers for use online. They are supposed to take a maximum of 48 hours but 4 days later I'm still waiting for mine. For that bargain price though, it's worth a go.

It's like anything nowadays - you need to shop around.

I've used frozen scampi and it turns out fine. Thin chips get broken and you end up with crispy bits but still edible.

I cook sausages in mine too, in fact, I wouldn't cook them any other way now. Frozen sauages never break up, but fresh ones do a little. Like I said before - still perfectly edible, but just doesn't look as tempting.

We've had one since they first came out , but it's a bit like Triggers 10 year old broom (it's had 4 new heads and 5 new handles ).
It's had 2 new clear lids, a new paddle, a new stirrer shaft and a new fan motor.

Having said that, it cooks chicken drumsticks and thighs brilliantly, frozen scampi is ok and we do roast potatoes in it too (but you have to cut them a bit smaller), although we're looking at the new Phillips Airfryer as a replacement next time it dies, cos Airfryer timer actually shuts machine off and it can't be built any more poorly than the Actifry.
THIS says it all, although he did get 34 quid for it. :rotfl:
