    Hello Ladies,

To start with I'm sorry I haven't been online for a while, it all just got a bit too much a few weeks ago, and I just didn't have time.

I'm also a little late in announcing the birth on the 8th Jan of my baby girl Darcy Grace weighing 7lbs 3.5oz at 21.46pm, I got my Vbac, she came 20mins after my waters breaking! She was back to back and so I'm still tender and needed stitches. But she is an angel, she is feeding well, sleeping could be a little better as she is a little greedy at night! Her big brother adores her, he likes to give her kisses and cuddles!

Anyway she has just filled her nappy so must go! Will be porting on parenting page too very soon, and will try harder to keep up!

    TF x

Congrats Twoflower! We were wondering how you got on, glad things went well.

The Boots sale is pants. And the website is being a !!!!!!. I'm not going to be buying anything!

Lilac - sounds promising! Better get packing that bag just in case!

VB - no, I'd be peed off as well. Difference is, I'd have had it out with him when I heard him come in :rotfl:

I am SO annoyed at OH. It payday for us both on Monday so the past few days we have been skint, but I'm the one who has been filling the cupboards and filling the car with petrol (my car, but he uses it). Anyway he had an awards night or something with his work last night and said it wouldnt go on any longer than 12, I said give me a ring if you get stuck and I'll pick you up (taxi would have been about £15)

I woke up at 2am, he wasn't home and no text to say where he was - tried ringing and his phone was off.

Anyway I was woken up at 4:45 this morning to him coming, slamming the door shut and waking the dogs. I have been out this morning, got home an hour ago and he still hasnt surfaced. I am absolutely peed off big time.

    Is it me overreacting?:mad::mad:

I dont think you are overreacting at all!!! I would be so angry and would probably not have got much sleep either as I would be worrying incase something had happened... lack of sleep is bound to make you grouchier with him. He probably just needs to be told that if it is to happen again to let you know as early as he can so that you dont have to worry, or be angry.
Hope your OH suitably makes up for it!!!

Uh OH guess who forget to phone tax credits and tell them about DH's change of job and increased pay :o:( Have done it now but not sure how much will have to pay back. Anyone help? his pay has increased by about £4K per year but he didn't start until middle of August so it wouldn't be £4k for the whole year iyswim?

So peed off with myself, i am usually so good at things like this but I kept putting it off initially as I was going to give up second weekend job and then just kept forgetting once I realised that I was going to stick at it. A bit worried as i see they can charge £300 for not telling them straight away :(

If they try to charge you bluff it and tell them you sent a letter in the post. With the way the post is they will accept that and should let you off with the fine. I've never heard of anyone being fined tbh but they are recently changing from 3 months to 1 month about telling them about any changes. Bluff, bluff, bluff! What's the worst that can happen?!

Isn't there also a certain amount that you can earn and it's ok until next year? Can't remember what they call it but it's just been reduced (from April this year I believe) from 25k to 10k but you're still within the limit. Have a look at the Tax Credits board. There is a big sticky about it at the top.

Vroom - probably but I would nail his boy bits to a stake anyway :D

Teenie - No idea TBH, baby 2 was an induction. I had similar 10 days ago but i was linked to the CTG machine in hossie at the time but they tapered off. this pregnancy has been problematic to say the least nothing mega happening 12-15 mins lasting 30-35 seconds and i'm functioning normally...

Twoflower - Congratulations! Darcy is a lovely name. It's actually on my shortlist of names.

EA - Now that you mentioned BMI....

BMI, in my opinion, shouldn't actually be used in a medical setting simply because it's so inaccurate. It assumes that everyone would have the same percentage of adipose tissue (fat) according to their weight. Obviously people who are leaner but have more muscle mass will therefore be heavier but the percentage of adipose tissue will be considered the same, giving them higher BMIs. Athletes for example, are often very lean but come up as having a higher BMI. Like, my friend's older brother is a boxer and he's very muscular so when his BMI is taken, he's considered obese! I'm 5'5.5'' and a size 10 but I used to do a lot of sport and my legs are fairly muscular so when I step onto the scales and have previously been told I probably have a higher bone density than average (not sure how they concluded that), my BMI comes up as 24. Apparently I'm only 1 BMI point from being overweight. And in countries like Japan, a BMI of 25 renders you obese! They'd be much better off if they measured body fat percentage as that would give a more accurate result. Anyway, BMI rant over (I actually debated BMI as part of my French A-level as I genuinely feel strongly about it and its use in medicine today :P )

Okay, rant over. I am going to go and attempt to stomach some lunch!

I don't think they will charge you for not informing them but when they adjust the tax credits there may be some overpayment to be paid back - or they may just adjust your remaining years credits to take account of this.

My ex husband used to get a pay rise every January and I never used to inform them until April when they send out the renewal forms - think they just adjusted the remainder of the year accordingly (this was a few years back now though)

lol! - re the BMI - we currently have a machine at work that you stand on and it measures your body fat percentage/percentage water/BMI etc...etc...
You have to stand really still and put your hand through the cuffs while it accesses you.
I haven't used it since before I was pregnant but the rest of the office are using it daily and are getting some very strange/unexpected readings.
One chap lost weight this week but his body fat percentage has gone up? - it's causing lots of debate.

    Hey peeps!

Hope everyone is doing well, I can barely keep up with the thread any more. DueMarch sorry to hear about the driving test, but I'm glad to hear you have another one booked.
Big congrats to Twoflower :) Love the name and hope you are all doing well!
    Lilac, how exciting
Anyone know where I can get a nice cheap dress to attend a wedding? I have a wedding to attend early next month. Will be going to day time and evening so need something that would do for both. Was having a look at new look but I may need to go in store and try stuff on. The rate my bump is growing I may wait a couple of weeks!

I was in Debenhams yesterday, asked if they did any maternity clothes, and they had a personal shopper person free who grabbed me about 30 stretchy (non maternity) dresses to try for a christening I'm going to this weekend. It was fab, she looked at all the sale stuff, and there were 2 or 3 dresses I could have picked. I would def recommend a look in Debenhams as there were loads in the sale for around £20 that would have been good, and if they have a personal shopper even better!!

I ended up with a gorgeous Coast dress for £29 Bargain :)

Vroom I would be so p'd off as well, totally not on not letting you know he wouldn't be back 'till stupid o'clock. I can sympathise, my OH has done similar but not the not letting me know thing, and that's annoying enough. Not sure you need hugs so sending you some saucepan lids to bang together instead...

Managed to talk to OH about him taking time off at 6 months. He wasn't joking but I'm not sure he wants to do it - he was trying to sell it to me as a financial benefit, but I pointed out if that was the case it'd be better me going back to work and kid going to nursery. I ended up in floods of tears, was very hormonal that day anyway, so probably didn't help. I'm not quite sure whether these are proposed or actual changes, but whatever, I'm not hugely impressed at the govt making changes that affect people who are quite pregnant and hugely hormonal... :o:o I have enough trouble keeping my emotions under control as it is!!

sold oh's car today (thank goodness) so thats 900 extra to have for maternity fund :D

Im really not in a great way today - very emotional and feel like crying I could really do with a hug - got all this stuff going on and around my head and feel like I have noone to talk to because either I dont want to burden them or I genuinely think they wont understand :(

phoned the midwife dept today to organise a blood test and the woman was so rude to me that I had to hang up as I nearly started crying so now im 30 weeks and still had no blood tests :(

sorry for the deppressive rant/whinge im off to eat some chocolate

some good things to try to make myself smile
    * Sold car and made 900
    * I have chocolate
    * only 10 weeks til I meet my new lil one
    * getting waxed tonight (like the thought of a bit of pampering)
    * pixies rant made me laugh
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
