Catwoman, sorry babs is keeping you on hold there. Hopefully, there will be a tipping point and then everything will proceed quickly thereafter.

Has anyone heard from twoflower? Keep thinking of her - it must be tough with Christmas approaching.

    Hi ladies,
Does anyone have any suggestions for cheap(ish) maternity clothes that will fit a 29/30" leg? I know Next do a short leg, but they never seem to have them in stock and it's pretty far to our nearest Next that does maternity stuff. I like the H&M and New Look stuff, but they are all too long for a midget like me...
    Thanks x

Ebay! I was having a nitemare finding maternity clothes but have found a few nice things on ebay.

Cat - I hope your little kitten makes and appearence soon. I wonder if the consultant is the same one that gave baby steroids because he was concerned they would need to deliver early.

Worse pain i have every experienced is kidney stones.

Hello folks, well, good morning I guess.

I'm struggling a bit at the moment and after some advice.
I seem to be walking about like an old woman at the moment, although DH would say I am!!!
If I sit down for more than about 20 mins (which I do considering I am in an office working 12 hour shifts), I struggle when I get up to get moving (round about my hips) and it's pretty sore to move until I seem to loosen things up.
I am also finding it very uncomfortable when in bed and wake up everytime I seem to move.
Oh, and if I stand on one leg then my hips seem to lock and I struggle to put any weight on my other leg for a bit until it wears off, it's agony. :(

Any suggestions??? I think I will call the doctors this morning but I'm worried they will just fob me off as seems to happen to us poor pregnant women!!! (Plus I'm worred they will just put it down to me being a slightly larger lady, ahem )

On a totally different topic, totally chuffed to bits Matt Cardle won last night!! :j DH is annoyed as I said he'd win when I saw his very first audition. Hee Hee. I love it when I'm right!!
    :jMini Coops arrived 2011:j
  • Hi Coops, I have the same problem with my hip and also work a office job, however only 10 hours a day. I spoke to the midwife about it at my last appointment and all she said was, it was part and parcel of my pregnancy as my pelvis was moving to make way for the baby to come out and she could arrange for my to see a Physiol. I declined that option, as I just didnt have the time to be faffing around at hospital - but if you are in a lot of pain you could always gve it a try.

    Morning all!

Don't know about the hip pain coops. My only suggestions would be a hot water bottle or, if you are planning to get a tens machine, to get one that can treat hip pain too and try it for that.

Good luck catw0man - it sounds like it won't be long now.

LittleBit - jojomamabebe have some shorter leg lengths and often give out discount codes - in the copy of emma's diary I was given at booking in there was a 10% off code. Other trousers which are too long I have just taken up by hand.

Well, nothing much has been happening here. Went out for dinner on Saturday and was having regular contractions throughout the meal, carried on during the night and I really thought that was labour. However, it all settled down again. I realise I'm only 38 weeks so potentially have another 4 weeks of pregnancy (I'm not sure at what point they induce you here). I have been getting frustrated thinking this is it and soon I'll have my baby and then it does not happen, so I've decided now I'm going to ignore the contractions and make the most of the time I have now. I've booked a haircut this afternoon and going to antenatal yoga tonight.

A friend of mine gave me the raspberry leaf tea she had and obviously didn't like as there is nearly a full box! I've been drinking it instead of my normal tea and don't think it is too bad - tastes a bit biscuity!

    Have a good day all!

Morning ladies. Cat sounds like things are definently happening and baby will just get his head engaged then it will all happen really fast. If your already 2-3cm then it shouldnt be too much longer.

Littlebit im a 31 leg and really struggle 30 leg is too short and I look like my budgies dies and 32 leg is too long and trails on the ground. Ive yet to find them perfect fit jeans nevermind maternity stuff. I just seem to put up with soggy bottoms.
I got a pair off ebay and they are listed as short but are prob a long 31 leg if that makes sense. i think as they are over the bump they keep slipping down. I have a bump band that I wear with my normal jeans. The band covers my bare bump above the waist.
At the moment im 20+4 and have only one pair of mat jeans. ive been living in them, normal jeans with band, leggings, jeggings and jumper dresses.
Sorry that doesnt really answer where to get some.

Teenie, im sorry to hear about your Uncle. As you said at least hes at peace now.
Good luck Wednesday. Ill also have DS with me at my scan as its 12pm next Tue, so DD will be still be at school and OH will prob be working as its the last day of school.
I really wanted DD to see it though.
By the way we went shopping in your home town yesterday. Pretty good shops. More than I expected. OH got all his shopping done and weve ordered our Turkey at M&S. Boots had had a flood though so it was shut, it was the only shop I really wanted as well as I have vouchers, bummer.

Hope you all have a good day. Im off to tidy up this house. we got loads done on Saturday but I wanted it all sorted today so i can spend next week making fudge, coconut ice, christmas cookies etc.

No way! Can't believe Boots had a flood talk about bad timing!! Was that the one in town? There is another one but not as big so you probably wouldn't have got much. What a shame. At least your OH got his done (something nice for you I hope ;)).

Good luck Cat sounds like things are happening, hope things start to hurry up when bubs behaves himself!

Right better go, DD is at me to get her Christmas cards written, catch you all later. xxx

  • He is going to be working nights 4 on 4 off. Does anyone have any experience of this as its all new to us?

Its not too bad once you have sussed out the best sleeping pattern for you. I used to work 9pm-7am 4 on 4 off. I used to sleep from 11am till 7pm whilst on nights, then on my first day off I would sleep from 8am till 12pm then go to bed at 11pm that night, and found that the easiest way to flip back to being a daylight person lol. All I can suggest is wonderweb, iron on hemming. That way if they are too long at least its not too much faff taking them up. HTH

Coops, don't put up with the pain. I've had it bad the other week and it is completely deblitating.:(
I found loads of info on this pelcic pain support charity website: pelvicpartnership.org.uk . I followed the practical advice they give. It helped no end. I also talked about it to the midwife who basically explained the same as what the website tells you and gave me some tubigrip sock to wear round my back/ hips and keep everything together.
A week and a bit later, I don't suffer anymore. :T Although I can tell it's still there when I'm not careful (putting a sock on standing up on one leg).
I sooo sympathise with you. Sincerely hope you get rid of it as easily as I have. Don't get fobbed off as being part and parcel of pregnancy. As they say, it's common in pregancy but not normal and can be fixed. The sooner, the better.
Gosh! I went off on one here!:rotfl:
