Condolonces Purple, am sorry to hear your sad news.
Congratulations to Katyj on the arrival of Sophie!Krystaltips wrote: »Tickle, if you're around... What was your experience with the gall stone originally? This afternoon I had a wicked pain that started in the centre of my chest, worked around to the back of my shoulderblades and was radiating around my right ribs... Was agony for about 2 1/2 hours... Went away a bit, but has kind of come back again since tea... It's mostly just in my chest at the minute, just about bearable... It doesn't feel serious enough for A&E and our out of hours Dr is pap...
That is how it started for me but it always started when I was asleep so not sure how gently it started I just woke up when it felt like period pain strength feeling but along the base of my ribs (IYKWIM). It would then progress to the point where I struggled to talk, sit, stand, walk. Although I found standing and swaying whilst concerntrating on breathing helped get through it. Since then I have been sleeping propped up to try avoid another attck and so far (touch wood) I havent had another episode (after the original 2). To compare the pain, its worse than when I have broken any or my fingers or my wrist, and I have had an abscess under a tooth that popped out the side of my gum that was less painful lol.Gallbladder pain, something I'm an expert on! Me and my gallbladder were separated in 2002 but remember it well. Krystal you are describing classic gallbladder pain. Could have been stone trying to pass into bile duct. Were you sick, or didn't know if to sit, walk lay down etc. If gets unbearable again may be worth going to A and E so they can see the pain and do bloods there and then. When finally diagnosed I ended up in hospital for 9 days as got severe jaundice and was on drips. Was told by others that the pain worse than child birth. Guess I'll be able to confirm next June! Hope you're ok today, ask away if anymore questions x
I wasnt sick but felt nauseous. So hope labour is less painful, if it is then it will be a doddle.I will let you know if its right in feb/march madbird. Oh I was also told by the Doc that you are at a higher risk of experiencing gallstone pain when pregnant due to your organs being squished.

Spaghetti - I have a set of these http://www.teamlollipop.co.uk/shop/half-price-special-offer-micro-nappy-set-2225-0.html
They are very quick drying - when we didn't have a drier, I just hung them on a drying rack in front of a radiator, and they were dry well within 4 hours if the radiator was on. I know someone (was it Krystal?) on here really dislikes them, but I've got on with them really well and they are better than my cotton ones for my little boy. He was a bit chunky, and they fit him really well - but I'm sure you can get different makes with similar fabric if the fit didn't suit you. The wraps in that set are mediocre though - I ended up replacing them with Airflow ones, which are brilliant. I bought the size 2 set, and they fit Oli from about 10 weeks to potty training (he was born 9lb 4oz).
Wrt liners, yes I'd use fleece every time. I prefer it to the disposable liners, it helps to keep their bottoms dry, and if you're washing the nappies anyway, you might as well be washing liners and wipes in with them (cheap facecloths for wipes, either with water or dipped in baby wash or lotion if needed). For the liners, I found cutting them into strips of 10x25cm worked well.0 -
Morning ladies and bumps.
Still feel awful with this lurg I have got. Congratulations Katy on the birth of Sophie.
I have pegged some washing out, don't know if it will dry in this frosty weather though? Worth a try though.
Stil haven't felt bubs move, I have my 24 week appointment on 29th December so do I leave it until then to mention it to the Midwife or shall I ring her before? I have mentioned it to her previously and she listened for a heartbeat and all was fine, I just don't want her to think I'm a bit of a nutter!
Hope everyone is OK and labour vibes to all in need x xBaby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
Purple, I'm so sorry to read your news... Words seem useless at times like this... Sending you the biggest hug xxxx
Congratulations Katy x
Hope you're feeling better soon Icey, nothing worse than lurgyAs for what to do... The 29th seems a very long time off when you're worrying, but I reckon you'll feel bubs long before then. Maybe you could give them a ring and see what they say? They'll probably tell you it's normal and you'll feel bubs soon enough, but maybe the reassurance will put your mind at rest. Worth a phone call to see - let us know either way

I'm watching The Royle Family Queen of Sheba, still at the laughing point as yet... Dreading the next bitI cry at anything and everything as it is, hormones make me 10 times worse!!!
Hope everyone's well today... Hopefully eje and cat are having mummy cuddles by now and safe delivery to anyone else approaching due datexxx

Spaghetti Monster - I have gone down the terry route for reusables - probably the cheapest option and cos they fold right out should dry v.quickly. How easy/containable they will be in every-day use I'll let you know when baby is here. There is plenty of choice and price ranges out there if you want something more akin to a disposable in style.
I also bought the IKEA fleece blanket (£1 here in the UK) - but haven't got round to chopping it up yet. Thanks to Chakani for her tip on what size liners to aim for.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -

Havn't been on for a while. Been uber busy. But on mat leave in two weeks so I'll have much more time to be posting and keeping up with everything on here.
Quick update:
My DH starts a new job shortly as the selfemployment didn't work out. He is going to be working nights 4 on 4 off. Does anyone have any experience of this as its all new to us?
My SPD is getting gradually worse but everyone at work is being ever so helpful and I only have 8.5 working days left.
Gratz on the new arrivals and welcome new people.
