Purple, you and your family will be in my prayers. I can think of nothing more devastating. I really hope you have some good support to give you strength through the coming weeks and months xx
I too was also thinking about including Theo in the list, only if purple is OK with it of course.

And congratulations to Katy on the birth of Sophie.
We always love a good baby pic on here
Tickle, if you're around... What was your experience with the gall stone originally? This afternoon I had a wicked pain that started in the centre of my chest, worked around to the back of my shoulderblades and was radiating around my right ribs... Was agony for about 2 1/2 hours... Went away a bit, but has kind of come back again since tea... It's mostly just in my chest at the minute, just about bearable... It doesn't feel serious enough for A&E and our out of hours Dr is pap...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

EA - so glad the MW could find a heartbeat, you had me worried then! Next time you go make sure they know from your notes from the start that your placenta is anterior, mine starts at the sides with the doppler now and there are never any problems.

Hi ladies,
Yesterday went for a couple hours to "pregnant Saturday" at the hospital where I'm planning to give birth - lots of stalls/info stands, had a quick look at a typical room where you give birth and then an hour talk about what will happen.
From reading on here I knew that often hospitals are different, so it was good to find out what happens at this one, somehow put my mind at rest.
The room seemed nice - they have gym balls, birthing stool, rope available. There was no mention of gas and air, but pethidine (sp?) and epidural. I think we're supposed to go in when the contractions are 4 mins apart (or earlier for other reasons I can't quite remember)
I guess it's also normal these days, but there's also a screen for TV/DVD's/internet - I can call my Mum and Dad and other family in the UK on Skype which will be really great (Mum's just becoming computer-literate and learning to use it all!)
Also a comfort is that the department is in one of the best children's hospitals in Holland and next week they're opening their new maternity dept - if you have to go from the natural birth to the medical birth dept it happens much more smoothly.
One thing I wasn't so sure about was they said they'd just introduced a new plan/policy that they want you to give birth within 12 hours (for first babies and timed from when proper contractions, 4 mins apart have started). I guess because of all the stuff you read about it being better to let things happen naturally, this seemed a bit like they're forcing you to a timetable. I think the reason they gave was that they want to manage things so that you are in better shape for the pushing stage and for after when the baby is born.
Anyway, the other thing I was starting to think about (after looking through the ton of leaflets) was nappies. I think I have to do some more research, but I'm quite keen on reusable. I found some that dry in 4 hours (much shorter than others, they're designed to come out the machine quite dry-ish) - I was thinking that one of the main problems is that we've got no tumble dryer and dry our clothes inside.
To get a set of everything you need new is €515, but on the same website you can look for 2nd hand ones. I was also reading somewhere on here that you can get a fleece blanket from Ikea and cut it up for the liners....
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas/opinions/experience...0 -
Gallbladder pain, something I'm an expert on! Me and my gallbladder were separated in 2002 but remember it well. Krystal you are describing classic gallbladder pain. Could have been stone trying to pass into bile duct. Were you sick, or didn't know if to sit, walk lay down etc. If gets unbearable again may be worth going to A and E so they can see the pain and do bloods there and then. When finally diagnosed I ended up in hospital for 9 days as got severe jaundice and was on drips. Was told by others that the pain worse than child birth. Guess I'll be able to confirm next June! Hope you're ok today, ask away if anymore questions x:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:0
