In my younger days whilst travelling, I made thrice weekly deposits at a Fertility Bank in another country over the period of 3 months.
Better than digging pavements in 100 degree heat as my mates did. 3 Visits paid me enough for accomodation, food travel and vast quantities of vodka.
So potentially I could be a father many times over, That is close enough for me.0 -

Why on earth would I want a reversal??? any future partner will be told very early on about my sperm status, There is so much that I want to achieve and do, and I dont wish to have my life handicapped by having a child.
IMO I cannot see any positive reason to have a child, yes I am selfish and will freely admit to it, but is that any worse that these !!!!less fathers scattering their seed, At least I am taking responsibility for my own fertility or lack of.
My GP is unaware of my procedure as I had heard from a number of sources that getting a vasectomy on the NHS when you havent had any children is nigh on impossible, Hence I decided to go PRIVATE and the service was top notch, and they asked on numerous occasions if this is what I wanted, and if I wanted to proceed.
Obviously your line of work has affected your judgement on this issue, likewise my line of work has also affected my judgement, I work mainly in the field of pre-natal screening, and have seen more deformed fetusus and babies that you have had hot dinners, so am more than well aware of the genetic dangers of having children, and to be honest when I started this job that was the icing on the cake.
WHY are you selfish, no you're not!! you don't want kids and that's your decision. I have two children and can understand fully where you are coming from......or not in this case:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Define Father:
Is it the provider of the sperm
Or the person who rears the child?
I saw an opportunity to make some easy money, whilst travelling, and I did, the results of said actions, may now mean there are babies/children with me as their genetic father, which in my eyes is very different to being a father of children.0 -
so did u just do it for the purpose of reproducing?0

Nope I saw the easy cash to fund my hedonistic lifestyle0

Crikey...so you did it for the money.....even if I was offered a million pounds I would not donate my eggs...ok maybe I'm a little extreme....but did you not sit down and think it through the morality of such a thing...
I don't agree with the idea of anonomous donors....kids need to know where they came from, some won't be bothered but I bet there are a fair few who get really scr*ewed about it. On the plus side there may be a few very happy and grateful people because of you.....
Wasn't there a guy who ran one of these clinics and was on some kind of power trip and used his own sperm without couples knowing resulting in him fathering hundreds of kids....ooooh and he was fat and ugly too!!!!.....lol
Snip was a good choice btw...0 -
...wish my OH would get it done. Some twerp he works with had it done a few years ago and fed OH silly horror stories about being unable to walk for two weeks because his b@lls swelled up like melons.
I've been to the Doctors, but was told the procedure is so much simpler - and cheaper to do on a male, and I was asked to bring OH into the surgery to discuss it. I gave OH the message and he ran a mile.0 -

I have to say I'm inclined to agree. Although everyone has different morals and values regarding anonomous sperm donation, i certainly could not live with the thought of little giles' running around in another country not having a clue who or where they came from.
As regards to your 'snip', it seems you are very clear about your decision; but who has never regretted anything in their life? Even the small, insignificant things, I regret buying an item from ebay as i found it in the shops cheaper. My point is no one can say 100% that they are 100% sure they made the right decision, only in hindsight when perhaps the choice they made at that time was the wrong one. And with you having no kids, I sincerely hope you don't look back in 10 years and regret this decision. Even if its when your old and grey and dumped in a nursing home, it may still happen!!!
Good luck anyway I really do hope you have made the right decision, and in 50 years can still say the same.
