  • the problem with that argument is that the hpc crowd don't leave their nonsense at hpc -- they tend to bring it to other more pleasant places as they clearly resent people enjoying their houses! That's the problem with cults and religions - they seldom keep it to themselves. If there was a Quaker branch of hpc, it might be more appealing and interesting!

Yes, but there's no use complaining about them if you've just walked into their 'church', straight up the aisle and slapped the vicar...... which is effectively what the OP just did.

I recently posted a few threads on houspricecrash, and as much as i agree with their core argument i now believe the site is run by cowardly little money makers who don't give a toss one way or another about a houspricecrash.
I posted yesterday one the subject of it's members getting a little bit more pro active, my suggestion was a march in the square miles to highlight the damage the Banks in that area have caused, i have now had all posts removed(all 10 of them)

HOUSEPRICECRASH HAVE RUN A MILE.... COWARDS.

That site is preaching to converted, it makes it's money from advertising so in my opinion it does not want to rock the boat. I am now with great difficulty looking at organising a march to highlight damage caused by the bankers around the city square mile.

Anyone who could help out would be appreciated

You come on here to whine about another site? The point of which is what?

But the OP is simply making a poijnt that they talk big but when someone comes and says to them, "You're all complaining over here. Let's do something tangible about it" no one wants to be involved.

In addition, it's not simply a case of 'if you don't like it, don't read it'. There have been several occasions where an MSE member has posted a linkback to a HPC thread. Say for example someone on here had bought a house for £200k and has come on here because he has now lost his job and is worried about mortgage repayments. You then get a wonderful tirade against the poor poster - examples--

I hope he loses his home
Serves him right for buying in 200X
Ooh I'll get to the auction and snap his ex-home up for 70k

And this is tame. They thrive on the words NEGATIVE, LOSS etc. It's awful. I don't read HC but I came across it thanks to examples of the above type. Yes they are free to say what they want to, and believe what they want to believe, but so are we free to dislike it in the way we dislike religious fanatics, dodgy salesmen and the rest. I don't believe we are not to have a thread with our views on just because they differ.
I'll have some cheese please, bob.

Well i finally tried to post on HPC again after a few weeks(been out of the country), and i have been banned:).
I have to admit that apart from what i mentioned in the opening post i have posted on a few doubts i have on why a housepricecrash might not happen(hence my post on do something about it), CENSORED.

Just this morning i have had a quick lurk on their site, you can see them suggesting that numerous sites have heavy censorship on THEIR sites, the abuse that is dished out is bordering on libel and at the very least in my opinion very rude.
They go to every broadsheet going that mentions this subject, actually they go ANYWHERE where it is mentioned and hijack that discussion.

I noticed one of their more prolific property bears is now having serious doubts(realisticbear), it will be very interesting to see what happens with the guy, more so that he has posted thousands of times on the crash mantra in the past.

I think the subject should be raised on this board(one of the more honest), like one of the replies said, they infest every site with their cult like views and have to be watched.

Just for a little balance(i am not against bearish sites) Motley Fool.. Property Market Trends is as bad. What that site has done in the last year is a disgrace.
There was a huge thread about one year ago now that had to use another board(mainly bearish posters) that bitterly complained that TMF had basically told them that they must post within a certain criteria, which left many of the posters lost for words. Many of the core arguments of these brilliant posters was that Government(then Gordon Brown) and corrupt dishonest institutions were keeping the property bubble inflated for selfish needs, most of them walked rather than be censored like that.

Motley Fool PMT now have the crazy situation of just a handfull of Bullish posters, sad little creatures like Kingofnowhere who post every few hours of their lives on a site with no comeback. What makes it even worse is that TMF are now even coming onto the board and taking sides with the Bull argument, it's a joke.

Should any of the Bulllish posters be reading this post:), it is quite often mentioned that the Bear posters have gone away because they have bought property, NO, they went away because the were(like HPC) being told what to say.

I think that a new site is needed on the subject of property, something that is not over censored, there are millions that are now watching closely at the property debate, sadly these two sites have failed.

Why are you telling us this, when it's obvious from this thread that nobody cares whether or not you post there, what you think of the other site, or whether you get banned from it?
