hello every one , i contacted the jobcentrre by phone, and pretty much pleaded with them to send official headed proof that i have no income and will be in reciept of benefits soon, the lady on the other end was reluctant at first but in the end said she would send one out it should get here monday morning, and i will take that to the school. on saturday, i sold eveything i could think of ( including old dvds an old phone i had to hunt for and my bike ) and got £ 45 pounds from it . which is great. i took the advice of cancelling my direct debits and got on the phone to some of them directly, and explained. I think they could tell i was in a bad way and although they cant cancell the billing they have frozen it till the end of december till i am in a better place. . thank u so much for your offers of help, i never imagined people out there could be so kind, i however am going to spend the money i got on a cheap pair of shoes from aasda , and lots of value items, to see us through. Iam going to ask for the crisis loan on monday morning and im going to save this for things like travel and emerggencies, (to get to the hospital for my mum, and to get my son to school by bus when the weather is really severe as its a 40 minute walk usually) i am very greatful for the sugestion of gingerbread and people i can talk to , cause sometimes things seem to much to bare when you are alone. I cant ask the farther of my son , cause once i got pregnant he ditched me and moved away, i will do this on my own.and without going down the escort route. but once again , i feel like crying but this time because you have all been so helpful and kind.

    Hi.

Well done for getting yourself out of a spot. With regards to the father, he may have moved away but he can still be traced by the CSA. They can trace him through his tax records or if he's claiming benefits trace him that way. My advice would to put a claim in still.
  • its a shame people didnt want more for the items but i imagine evryone is in hardship right now, as for contacting the father, im still not sure that is a route i wish to pursue in a way im glad hes out of my life , cause he was quite agressive. and if i have to get back in contact with him ill be inviting that back into my life and i cant do that but thank you everyone once again. your all such lovely people. x
  • Hi, I know you've got some money now, but if you haven't already bought your ds some shoes, i'll happily post some to you, my ds is nearly 6 but he's really big, I have trainers, plimsoles and school shoes in sizes 11 and 12 if thats any use, they're still really good condition, if he's not that size yet, i'll still send them if you want and save you some money in the coming months, im a single parent as well and know how tough it can be x

From someone being in the same boat relationship wise, I walked out of a voilent and abusive relationship when I was 7 mths gone. When I applied for benefits, they asked for contact details, I explained the situation, (we had social services involved because of what he had done), if by the csa etc going down the route would put you and your child at risk, they don't pursue it. They may suggest that you make your own payment arrnagements through child maintance options, but don't worry about that if its not a safe option. x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

if you emphasise to your childs school they should have leaveway for the childs meals as I know from my past 4 years of training that most schools will be helpful to you. I've had kids turn up without lunch before so they just had a school meal and if you explain the circumstances the school should be helpful. There used to be (not sure if there still is) a grant for getting clothes for your lil one:

    http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/en/Residents/GoingtoSchool/Welfareissuesinschool/FinancialAssistance/FreeSchoolMeals_ClothingGrants/

So this should help with the clothing and is applicable to all areas.

    My thoughts are with you
    :T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :) :beer::beer::beer:
  • Trinibini,

You are doing really well, keep taking these small steps. Soon enough your benefit will be sorted (it won't be much but at least it will be coming in) and then hopefully you'll feel a bit less stressed.

A new job will come along sometime. In the meantime focus on looking after you and your lovely little boy.

Do try and talk to some of the organisations mentioned - there's no shame in being stuck in a tight spot. There are so many people struggling at the moment, from all different backgrounds and situations. Help is out there you may as well use it.

Keep us updated as to how it's going xxx

    Hi trinibini

Hope things are looking brighter this week for you and your DS.

We are moving early next year so I am currently decluttering. I have an 8 year old son so may be able to help out with some clothing for your 6 year old. Why don't you post or PM me with your son's sizes.

I would be happy to forward a parcel to you c/o the school or an alternative address.

Do let me know if I can help.
