I really need help. I lost my job over a month ago. I have been aplying to every single vacancy advertised but no one is getting back to me, i applied to go on jobseekers but the claim they said wont be processed till my next sign in date and even after that it might take some time ( 2 1/2 weeks. I have no income no savings , my child tax credit and child benefit isnt due for at least another two weeks. | have literally nothing. To make matters worse i cant ask my mum cause she has found out she has an ilness whereby her brain isnt supplying her vital organs with the neccesary requirements to function , as a result shes suffering from kidney failure , heart problems etc.So i cant ask her at all. i have 90 p to my name. A 6yr old son to feed and the stress of it all is starting to make me feel so depressed. I even resorted to being an online cam girl but they wont accept me without current passport and that costs 80 quid alone. in two to three weeks ill get my jobseekers and that will be swallowed up by bills. my sons shoes has holes in them and i cant afford to buy him new ones so his feet get wet in this weather. i really am at my wits end . once the food we have left in the cupboard runs out , what do i do

Hi
Have you friends who could sub you some cash?
Ask at your childs school re free school meals and tell them re his shoes, they might have a hardship fund.
Also could you ask for a crisis loan?
HTHFind out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -

No wonder your at your wits ends, you've dealing with a nightmare situation. Have you asked DWP if you would be eligible for a crisis loan? You could also apply for a budgetting loan from the social fund, a friend of mine recently applied and was given £350.00.It takes a few weeks to process the application though. I think the repayments are £5 or £6 a week and they are deducted directly from her benefits.0 -

hello , thank you for replying everyone, I asked the benefit people, to give me proof of the fact im on jobseekers and they said untill im actually in reciept of it , i cant claim free school meals, school uniform help etc. The lady mentioned a crisis loan but she said only take it of ites really necessary , after knowind what a dire situation i was in... so i wondered if it was only like a one off thing and the repayments would be astronomical etc, but thank you for explaining that. Im worries though if your only allowed it once, what happens if i come into even harder times down the road, i mean literally no roof over our head . would it be best to save it till then? i dont actually have many friends , and most of them are single mums like me that are severely in debt , it wouldnt be right to take of them , A friend suggested escorting but to be honest , i would like to be around for my child to grow up and not be worried sensless and put my life at risk . i dont know maybe i need to just do what has to be done. im going to look into the crisis loan though definately , thank you guys. Its nice to know that even one person read this and gave advice, cause right now feel like my world is caving in0

I am so sorry that you are in this situation. The system really lets us down sometimes. Have you tried approaching a local charity or church? It is difiicult, I know, and can make you feel like you are truly desperate, but they are there to help. We, when Iwas younger, had to wait two weeks for money like you, and we ended up getting a food parcel form the local Salvation Army. They also helped my mum with advice and cheap clothes, books and necessities once we started ot get sorted. These peopel are there toh help, they do not look down on you or judge and they do care.
You are not alone in this, and I understand it may be tempting to go down the escorting route, but as you have sensilbly said, it can be dangerous and you need to be here for you son

I know this is going to sound harsh and I really don't mean any offence to you, but with friends like those... Trust me, prostitution isn't the answer. If you think you're in danger of losing your home, contact Shelter or another housing charity for advice. Don't go denying yourself and your child vital money in case of an emergency happening later, you've got one happening now. A crisis loan should keep you going until your benefits are sorted out, then you can see about finding another (legal and safe) job with the backing of Government money. Like I said, I'm sorry if I was harsh, I'm just shocked that someone you call a friend would ever suggest you sell yourself. Take care and let us know what happens. :grouphug:

It sounds like you would be able to get emergency food aid, i was reading about it on the beeb a few weeks back. Linky...
In that article they mention this charity its definitely worth a shot. Also you need to speak to your local welfare rights ASAP as they will be able to point you in the direction of local help

Hi sorry to hear you are having such a hard time did you know you can get child tax credits paid weekly and have you advised them of your change in circumstances in case you qualify for more. We get ours weekly and it's a big help.
Good luck and also applying for free school dinners is easy if you qualify you need to ask at your Childs school for a form and then show them you get child tax credits not working tax credit and my childrens school told me straight away we qualified and then you can give your son something basic for tea as you know he has had a hot meal lunchtime. Does his school have a breakfast club as I was told mine could go to this for free as well.
Hope this helps.0
