That's an Insurers polite way of saying: "Please Foxtrot Oscar to another Insurer". :D

It's probably because you don't fit their ideal market profile.

Insurance companies often dont like to refuse cover. So, in the cases where they dont want your business, they will just price you a silly figure and as vikingaero says, its a polite way of telling you that you are not wanted here.

My quote for " bad boys" was £2.963 . Considering I drive a W reg Clio with 20 years no claims I thought it was a tad excessive considering the car is worth £ 750.00 quid :D

Don't know what you're complaining about. Last night's Watchdog highlighted a comparison site quote for a Fiesta of around (wait for it) (drum roll) £94,000! :rotfl:

At the other end of the sillyscale: Martin Lewis was on the programme and said that one punter ended up paying only 96 PENCE for a year's fully comp (through a cash-back site).

The 96p policy was with Swintons so technically was over priced by 96p

I find it infinitely funnier that the OP is bothering to shop around when they're paying so little for insurance in the first place.

It's always worth a quick shop around you never know what's out there to save a few quid, I had to insure a car for the first time in 10 years a few months ago, I got a quote of £4000 from my bank (they sent me a we'll beat any quote type letter so I thought it was worth a try..managed to get it to under £600 with business cover for two drivers from another company. I have lost my no claims discount due to an ongoing claim they will give me some benefit from driving my company car once it's settled.
