Not having much success with boxes at the moment;). I am adept at climbing long vertical ladders though!

Feeling a bit guilty today. I went a walk down the market with MIL and SIL and ended up buying a new top and skirt which came to £4 for both. I also bought some daffs to put on mum's grave and also got a £2 which I put in the tin, meaning I spent £7 today which when added to what Ste spent will definately be over budget. :( This is what I get when I go out with money in my purse. Don't get me wrong I need new clothes and at £2 each I shouldn't complain but I feel guilty for spending the money and making us go over budget!

For a start you didn't spend £7, you spent £5 and saved £2 coin. You shouldn't feel guilty about spending £4 on clothes that you NEED and spending a £1 on flowers for your mums grave, is fine too.

I've hi-lighted the bit about Ste's spends cos firstly I've noticed that this eats into your budget a lot and perhaps you should be looking at ways to reduce this, especially if you are dropping to one income soon, and also you shouldn't feel guilty about paying £4 for clothes that will last you a while, whilst Ste spends £4 in a day or two on something to fill his tummy for a short while;)

Have you been anywhere with the double pushchair yet. Really pleased you got it. :T

Used the double buggy yesterday in town and today down the market.. it's brill!!!! Ash could walk and then she'd let us know when she was fed up of walking and want to get back in the buggy. The freedom was indescribable as it's easy to use PLUS Ash is quite happy to sit up front in it and act like the queen of sheba. LOL.
To be honest the reason I feel guilty about spending £4 on clothes is because I normally don't go anywhere TO spend any money.. so £4 to me seems like a lot as normally I spend £0. Ste however has cut down his daily spend from around £10 a day to £4 and this alone has saved us a fortune so I don't feel too bad for him as he has done well. I know there are still cut backs to be made but until we know exactly what our income is when I officially leave work it's hard to prepare for the unknown if that makes sense? We've come to a sort of agreement where once or twice a week I'm going to go down the market and buy an item off the stall I got my clothes from today as they're always dirty cheap at around £2 an item. I need new clothes as I'm fed up of wearing pregnancy stuff and at £2 a pop it won't make much dent on our weekly budget anyway and my wardrobe will soon be respectable rather than 'maternity' LOL.
I think I was beating myself up unneccesarily TBH because toddler group isn't on for the next 2 weeks, so we're going to be saving £3 on that alone...so £1 isn't really going to affect us that much is it? Me and my worries eh? lol.

hiya glad to hear the buggy is giving you some much needed freedom.
Just a thought statutory paid maternity leave has been extened to 9 months today-I know you are on leave now so would this apply to you? It would be great to get yours extened by 3 months.
