LucyJR wrote:Just having a look at your SOA - you say that your husband doesn't drive, so how does he get to HMV (I think I'm from the same area as you) Are you taking him in to town in the mornings? Could he not get the good ol' 876 instead, cutting down on some of the travelling costs?
Ooooh someone local! lol. He normally gets a lift from his mate who also works there, but his mate's car needs a new head gasket so he's getting the bus at the moment, think he gets the 880 as he says the 876 is full of college kids.. LOL.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Just called Blackhorse for a new settlement figure. £427 if we pay by the 7th December. Was planning on paying on the 5th when the child benefit went in... wondering if that'll be too late if I pay by electron over the phone? Hmmm..... it should clear in 2 days shouldn't it? I always thought card payments were instantaneous! Oh well. Either way a week on tuesday is D-day for blackhorse..... going to take that pony to the knackers yard.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Have just put my old xbox on ebay.. we did take it into gamestation to trade it in for cash to go towards blackhorse but they wouldn't take it because it'd been opened... so we'll see what ebay has in store for it!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

All I can say is oops... completely lost track of the November challenge this week. However we did have a good week. Got all our xmas presents sorted (Except ours to each other), and had a great night last night at Steve's suprise party.
Plus it's 4 days til payday! woo!
Also the xbox I put on ebay finished today so that's another £30 in the kittyMeans our savings will be £526.81 by the 5th december... as we have £302 saved already, another £125 to go in on weds, £69.80 on the 5th plus the £30 from the xbox.
So in theory we could pay off any one of the debtx except for Ste's citi or my barclaycard, and we have a massive dilema as to which one to pay off! The original plan was to pay off blackhorse as that's the highest payment every month which would help us out.... but the other's have higher APRs, plus Mothercare goes out at the start of the month when we have to be tight with money because of all the other bills going out...... Argh! What to do!!!! We could pay off blackhorse and then pay £100 off something else... don't know what to do!!!

Well, have just transferred the last increased tax credits payment over to the debt savings account.. and as soon as it clears we'll have the £427 to pay off blackhorse! Woooooooooooo!!!!!!! It should be cleared friday or monday and will be able to pay them off as soon as it's clear! 4th debt down and £24.34 better off in december!
So because of the 4 debts we've paid off this month we'll be £88 better off in december to go towards the next one Woohoo!
Think the next one will be Mothercare.. just because it's a higher minimum payment and the lowest balance. Might go for Citi though... oh I don't know! Will talk to Steve about it and see what he says. Can't wait to get Blackhorse paid off though!

WOOHOO PAYDAY! We even had £75 left in the account left over from last month so £50 has gone into savings and Steve's going to use the leftover £25 to get the game he wanted which means it won't be coming out of this month's budget
Also a bonus is that Steve got £70 more than we were expecting which is incredibly handy just before xmas and means we'll be fine for money this month and should be able to save some after all, although because of christmas we're going to not be so strict with the december challenge and just save as much as we can without stressing. It IS christmas after all plus we've already got the money to pay off blackhorse without even adding the child benefit which is great
Not sure exactly what my pay is going to be this month as it's my first month on maternity pay but I'm expecting about £480-£500.
Christmas is pretty much sorted, all the presents are bought except for Steve and I's to each other so we'll just need money for the usual christmas jollys but won't be going overboard at all.
Either way, feeling very positive this morning. Haven't got any set targets for paying off debts this month as we've done so well paying off 4 already that I think it's fair to say we deserve to let our hair down this month and just relax. We'll still save money like the child benefit etc and start putting that towards another debt, but we're not going to do it to the extent that we have been.
December will be on a good start anyway as we've saved £50 today which was leftover from november, will save the £69.80 child benefit on tues as well as the £30 we got for the xbox when that clears from paypal (should be monday/tuesday)... so that's £149.80 before we've properly started!
Happy payday everyone!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

The tax credit money cleared into the debt account today.... so Blackhorse is officially history!!!! Wooohooo! Have got to send them a copy of our marriage certificate so they can update my credit report with the right details but that's it! It's all paid off and that's another debt gone! Also we'll be £24.34 better off next month!
Happy December everyone!!!!!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
