What am I doing wrong???? She was tired so I just put her up to bed and she had ANOTHER MASSIVE screaming fit at me....so bad at one point she was going purple and nothing I did calmed her down except rocking her which she never normally needs... she's always had a bit of a cry when first put down but normally drifts off fairly quickly but today has been a completely different story  I just don't know what I'm doing wrong and how much more I can deal with today! Argh!

She might have caught a bit of the bug you've got? Doesn't sound like she's feeling really ill, but she might just be a bit unsettled and fretful. Or she could be teething - it's a bit early I know, but some babies do.

Or she could just be having one of those mysterious off days that come and go every so often.

Try not to worry, it will pass.

I've checked her gums and there's nothing there and they look fine so either she's having some kind of growth spurt or isn't feeling well as this isn't like her. I did notice when I was checking her gums that it looks like she might be getting a touch of oral thrush.... just what I need!

How about a dose of calpol anyway? She might have teething pains, growing aches, headache... who knows. But it won't do her any harm and it might just give you a couple of hours of peace. I feel for you today.

    Hi IA

Just a couple of ideas - first one to get you to sleep more soundly and quicker - try lavender oil on your pillow or in a bath just before you go to bed, you can get some on most markets for a couple of pounds and you only need a few drops.
Secondly, what milk in K on? Mollie was on C&G and screamed every time we fed her and put her down, then we tried C&G Comfort which solved the problems more or less straight away - the milk she was on was upsetting her tummy. This might not be the problem so please forgive me if I'm wrong - also, you have probably thought of this but maybe she needs a bit more milk and I know i am going to get slated for his as I know HVs say you shouldn't wean babies now until 6 months but have you thought about giving K a bit of baby rice - just a spoonful or so - it worked with both mine at 3 months though I gave them only rice for about 2 months before properly weaning them. Just a thought though.

Hope you feel better soon xxx

I used to give mine rice too from 3 months, I had really hungry babies.

How old is she? Chloe kept waking up in the night and we couldn't see or feel any teeth, but all of a sudden she woke up one morning with two teeth coming through her gums.

And our doctor gave us piriton for when she has problems sleeping, because if she is in the tiniest bit of pain with her teeth or a cold she thrashes about in her sleep crying, and not even holding her soothes her.
