The sausage casserole literally costs pennies. We buy one of the colemans packet saus casserole mixes which are 65p, then we use about 10 sausages which is 1 for Ashli, 4 for me and 5 for steve (so 50p based on our bag of sausages costs £2 for 40), then 1/4 of a bag of froz veg whic equates to 25p, and then a tin of new potatoes which are about 21p if I remember right? So
total meal cost is £1.61 unless you want to add the electric cost to cook it LOL.
Basically brown off the sausages, boil up the potatoes and veg, add it all to a casserole dish and pour over the casserole mix, cover in foil and lob in the oven for an hour. It's gorgeous and is the only meal where Ash will eat all her veg! lol!

    there you go!

Have checked what they've bought before and one item was a broken washing machine so they must fix them up and sell them on for profit.
I'm not complaining as there's no way of us being able to get rid of it as it won't fit in the car and the council won't take it!

Morning all.. still no movement on the ebay items but had a couple questions asking for buy it nows on the cd player so I said £50 (lol).. maybe a bit ambitious but considering it was over £300 new I want to try and claw some of the money back! lol
We woke K up at 11ish to give her another bottle and see if she'd go through the night again. She woke at 2.30 because she was cold but didn't wake up properly til 7.30 this morning... thank god for that! Hopefully she'll settle down again soon.
Going to go check the bank as need to buy veg and formula today so need to see if we can spare £10... :undecided:
I hate the stretch to payday...

Well I've checked the bank and if I get a tenner out for the formula, veg etc we'd have £6.58 a day til payday. Had to use £4 out of the £2 tin last night to get some baby wipes as we were desperate.
Today is also the end of week 3 of our april money budget/debt challenge thingy and we spent £34.47 this week meaning we saved £27.35 on our original budget but for some reason it doesn't work out right near the end of the month... we write down everything we spend and yet the 'budget' never seems to stay the same as what it was at the start of the month... can anyone see where we're going wrong??? I have no idea!!!

Also looks like we're going to have to buy a new freezer after all... the stuff in the top and middle is ok but anything below the middle isn't freezing :undecided: We have £47 spare after paying dotty p's but that spare money was supposed to be going towards the stag and hen nights next month as well as a wedding present. Have spotted a chest freezer new on ebay for £49 in cradley heath which is about 20 miles away from us. The delivery is £38 so would have no choice but the pick it up but it's looking more and more likely like we're going to have to use the £2 fund. *sigh*
It's so annoying something always comes and kicks us up the !!!! just after things start going right again. Bunny and her family were so kind to give us their old freezer and we're so grateful as it's stopped all our food getting ruined but looking more and more like we're going to have to get a new one.

Can everyone keep their fingers crossed for some better luck for us soon?

I should mention that the £6.58 a day is taking the cradle gig on friday into consideration as if we hadn't budgeted for it there's no way we could've afforded to go right now! Am so glad I put it in our budget now...

Just a thought ... seeing as so many people here seem to have spare freezers I'm guessing its probably a general thing that quite a few people have them spare ... so how about putting an ad in your local newsagents window asking if anyone has a spare one in their garage they don't need anymore?? Even if you had to give them £20 or so it may be cheaper than the ebay one?? Then again, the ebay one is new ...
