Have put an ad on freecycle but nothing yet. Had a mad dash to tesco/asda/coop but they sell washing machines but no fridge freezers!
We know it's not the fuse as the light is still on.... should've known it was on it's way out as it suddenly got louder last week and Ste only noticed today that stuff wasn't cold in the fridge! Nightmare! Just going to have to hope the freezer food lasts til tomorrow when we can go into town again.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Don't open the door unless you absolutely need too. Hang a wet towel down the front of it. Give the compressor a wack with something (what have you got to lose?)."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

What a nightmare - Leave it shut, don't even open it to check on it, that way you are keeping as much of the cold air in as possible. Tomorrow, if any of the meat has defrosted, you could cook it, then re-freeze it, so that you don't have to chuck it away."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Oh, I cross posted with ZTD - I wasn't copying, honest!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

lol thanks guys. We've put all the fridge stuff in a cool bag and put it back in the fridge but it's warm as anything in there so everything's going to be knackered by tomorrow. Haven't opened the freezer since we realised and are just praying that the frozen stuff we put in there earlier would keep it all cool enough til tomorrow. Otherwise we're going to have to rebuy all our fridge/freezer food and it's going to cost a fortune...
Will have to look at our house insurance policy to see if we'd be able to claim for all the ruined food....Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
