Also, there is a brill place in Telford we get all our white goods from-they are all slightly damaged but way cheaper.
We got a fridge and washing machine for £200 when we first bought our house!

Let me know if you want me to have a look for you,

  • We have one that was given to us by my husbands work as it was too old to be use anymore but suited us all ok. I used to buy LOADS of food and have my fridge, freezer and cupboarsds all bursting with food-part of my denial about being in debt and making me feel secure? Strange I know...
Now that my debt is in the open, and I am happier, I don't feel the need to fill it all up with food! So, it's unused in the garage...

We're moving in the next week or so so I was going to put it on Freecycle anyway!

Toto, my Mom doesn't know any schools but I'm getting her to see if she can find out more info

As long as you don't need it we'd be very very grateful of it. Freecycle has turned up nothing except for a broken one in stone, and cheapest we could find a fridge and freezer on the net was over £100... :(

A fridge just increases shelf life - it will have a shelf life in normal air temperature but not as much.

Some stuff in your fridge doesn't actually need to be there - it's just customary.
Going back to this. If you don't manage to sort anything out today, ask on oldstyle about what you can manage to leave out of the fridge. They'll be able to answer what people did in the days without fridges, eg, this is my thread on there recently asking about bottles of sauces.

A few weeks ago I had 2 spare fridge freezers. My SIL gave us hers when she got a new one, so we relegated ours to the old coalhouse, just for extra food, but the shed being single brick meant the freezer wasn't suitable in winter, and we weren't using it that much. We've recently had (still having) work on house so we've re-arranged things to have a seperate fridge and freezer, which suits our new lay-out better. MIL is having the fridge/freezer which originally belonged to SIL as her spare. :D

LOL - mine is spare as we bought our own one but we moved to this house (rented) it had white goods, so my Dad bought our gas cooker and my Auntie is using our washing machine and the fridge/freezer is sat here doing nothing!! We didn't want to get rid of it all in case we move again (which is likely this year) and have to buy again.

Mine is much the same reason, actually we have way too many fridges here. OH moved in a couple of years ago and we kept his washing maching and fridge freezer as a spare in case mine packed up. Then we moved here, this house has a fridge freezer, a fridge and a freezer (don't ask me why). Then I was given a chest freezer and I have a fridge in my office! I did freecycle OHs one, I have mine in the garage ready to freecycle if anyone needy asks, sometimes with things like that I prefer to wait until someone asks, so someone in IAs position gets it, rather than someone who wants stuff to car boot (yes I have seen my stuff at the local car boot 2 days after it was collected).

Just to clarify this - I wasn't suggesting you take it out of your fridge - just leave it in and don't worry about it getting warm.
