Well done Hypno :j:T:j
What great progress in more ways than one
It could have been such an emotional day but you seem to have got through in unscathed, if frozen.
We do all seem to hoard such a load of stuff that we once thought we were emotionally tied to or it would come in useful in the future. But then we forget we have it and buy new or it is too dated or we realise it just wasn't important in the first place. Moving house is such a great time to do this, especially if you are going somewhere more compact, as you can be so much more ruthlessSays the girl that has had Dad's original Flying Jacket and her Brothers Kilts in her wardrobe :rotfl:
Hope the bath and curry warm you through and that you are planning an evening in front of the TV - think Matt may be in danger tonight, he was suffering last night and it showed in his voice:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
But so much of it was pure rubbish - not even "it'll be useful one day"!
Mind you - I did find my le creuset saucepan and casserole dish, so I have the basis of my "new" collection for the new kitchen!
And, yes, "emotionally unscathed" - pretty accurate, and very glad too!
I need to do a couple more bits ready for the charity shop guy, then will have a hot bath and collapse in front of the telly. I hope Matt stays - I am sure he will.
Have had a curry - we ordered from the takeaway and had it delivered, and literally had to raid the pennies jar.....poor guy was given the money in coppers and the comment "you'll just have to take my word for it - it is all there, honest"!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. So that is back to one of my earlier posts then - hiding it quickly when people were coming :rotfl: Another favourite in this house is putting it out of sight until I am going to the tip and then forgetting to take it :mad:Mind you - I did find my le creuset saucepan and casserole dish, so I have the basis of my "new" collection for the new kitchen! And, yes, "emotionally unscathed" - pretty accurate, and very glad too!I need to do a couple more bits ready for the charity shop guy, then will have a hot bath and collapse in front of the telly. Don't work for too much longer, you must be shattered already. I'm hoping that, out of those left, Mary goes tonight.
So I am not the only one that pays for takeaways out of the penny pot :rotfl::j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Yum to the curry - well deserved  (hope there are a few of those involved too
)
I was thinking the same when we moved - why do we keep so much crap?! But I think it's more effort to sort things and decide if we do or don't want them, than it is to just shove it somewhere - especially when life is busy and decluttering is not a priority.
Like you though, I've learnt the merits of less stuff and am continuing it in this house. Have a nice evening0 -
Yes, the original orange coloured le creuset. I knew they must have been in there somewhere, but the garage was literally floor to ceiling with "stuff" so each time I did a general look for them, I got no further looking in the door and deciding to look another daySuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. I will be much more ruthless in my new house!
We all say that...until the next time! :rotfl: (I'm currently doing my room and imagine your garage in a smaller space...).
Well done on finding the Le Creuset. I would like some of that when I get me own place. Please call me 'Pickle'

These paragraphs contain the secrets of the universe:D:D I wish I'd known them a few years ago :rotfl:
My mother wants me to keep intact some of the 1960s stuff I was going to cut up to make patchwork and whatnot from .... I've told my sister my decision: if our mother wants that stuff kept whole, she can have it back :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well, I will have to be more ruthless in future - I will have far less space to clutter up than I have now.
And I have to admit, that I am looking forward to not having so much stuff around me!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
