Well, I was quite pleased - did 11 miles in a reasonable time, so given the excesses of the last few days, I am more than happy with that. I probably could have gone on for a few more miles but decided to stop while I was pleased with myself rather than push myself further and end up disappointed if I slowed down too much, IYSWIM!
So, just had a couple of slices of toast, my coffee is ready to be consumed and all is well with the world!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I was about to put that if you had seen the state of me not being able to stay awake beyond 9pm last night, "energetic" would not have been a word that came to mind!
But, I do have to say that it is easy to think that by doing nothing, opting out of the run, or turning down the social invitations, that I will feel less tired.....but actually, these things *give* me the energy rather than sap me of it, if that makes sense.
I know that I could easily have backed out of my run - runchum had already cancelled, and I was really really tired after a few busy days.
But, having got out there, I feel so much better - OK, so the first 2 or 3 miles were heavy going, but once I got into my stride I was very pleased that I had made the effort.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. It was probably the most frustrating match of the season so far, but we're still in the play off places, and this time last year we would only have dreamed of that, so we must keep things in perspective!
I only had one drink after the match last night - was home at 6.45, didn't cook dinner (got takeaway instead) and collapsed. That is all I was good for!
I still need to get to the supermarket today.....DD is still in bed, so I think I will go and wake her so she can come with me. It makes total sense, i am making myself do things at the moment.
I may also volunteer for the D of E assessment (or rather because of my past experience i have been volunteered) so really need to get my walking back up. GP has told me i need to build up my knee strength if i want to jog, she has said that brisk walking is more suited to me at the moment until i feel able to jog.
So i have a plan to build up my walking and have been downloading maps etc. Its a start, but i probably can keep to this one. It isn't overly strenuous for me, and i just love walking and viewing different bits of scenery. Really clears my head.:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

There is a reason why there is the saying "don't run before you can walk", Bob........:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Well done! :T After posting earlier, I decided to run and get my car from our friend's house, as we left it there last night. I took the long route so did 4.5 miles. Not 11, but better than sitting on my 'arris which is what I had planned to
Hope you're having a nice afternoon x0
