So.....we had a very very long day yesterday, but it was worth it. It was made longer by the fact that we had a bus replacement service for part of the journey each way, but there was nothing we could do about that other than get on with it!
We got to Covent Garden at about 10.45 and mooched about, did a bit of shopping, and had lunch, before going to the Lion King which was fab - the costumes are amazing. Then had drinks before going to the Ritz for tea. It was really nice - obviously full of people like us who had booked for a special occasion, but they did get the balance right between not making people feel out of place and making them feel special, if that makes sense!
We spent a lot of time with a very good friend of ours when we were there too, which was just the icing on the cake really.
A late train home, with the bus for a portion of the journey, was not quite so restful, as it had some rather loud and/or drunk people on, one of whom chose to keep staring at me through the gap in the seats, which was a little freaky, but if that is the worst that happened, then it was a successful day I reckon!
I got a birthday cake from the ritz, but they had to put it in a box for me to bring home, because I couldn't eat it, so I nursed that VERY carefully on the journey home.
I am off work today to catch up with some of the things that have been neglected in the last week or so...and I hope you all have a good day xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Sounds like you had a great time! The roadworks and disruption because of the Lord Mayors Show on Saturday were manic, but it was still fab up there!

That *was* a long day, to get up to Covent Garden from where you live by 10.45! I'm glad it went so well - the Ritz website looks so ... sumptuous, I think is the word .... hope its not too frantic at work today.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
