Thanks se - will look out for cheap offers this year - if I can end up with some sort of break away later in the year, like I did with the travelodge rooms this year, that could be ideal!

Today has been, quite unexpectedly, Christmas bonus day :D Ok, it comes in the form of a cheque so needs to be banked and cleared, but it is a lovely way to spend a cold Wednesday.....:D

Brilliant timing, as presumably it gives you at least temporarily an emergency buffer for the house move. Even if you want to spend it on the nice treats in the longer term :D

Oh well done on the bonus - DH gets his next week hopefully, although the company have changed the amount since giving them targets so having worked extremely har for it he will now only et half the amount before tax.

Have just been signed off of work till the 20th - they were quite ar##y when I told them - have got to the end of my tether there at the moment - will post rant later if I can get my head round it on my own thread!

surfbabe - I am sorry you are still unwell - it has been going on a long time now, so you must be exhausted. Get well soon, and bah to work!

bonus cheque banked and smile duly planted on my face......it is a very generous amount after tax, so is most gratefully received.

I will be buying mine and DS's season tickets for next year for the football - this year I have used their 0% over 12 months payment option, so it will be nice to pay it in full this time and free up that money each month :D That is very definitely a "fun" thing and one I will appreciate hugely.

Next, after Christmas, I will be buying an annual travel pass for the bus - as I have mentioned before, I buy weekly tickets, and to pay £13.20 a week, means I am actually taking out £20 a week, with the balance being spent on nothing.......so by buying an annual pass, I have no need to go to the cash machine so regularly, and reckon I will actually save a fair bit this way.

The rest will be kept for nice things for my new house - curtains, bits of furniture that I want to change, etc.

And NONE of it, I repeat NONE of it, will be going to repay debt :j:j:j

Yay to the season tickets! and the bus pass (which does mean you free up money for debt busting ), is DD getting something as you are paying for DS to have a season ticket?

    When do you actually move?

there will be no need to free up money for debt busting Dragon - I will be debt free in a couple of weeks :D Instead it will free up money for spending :T

The move - well, still waiting to exchange - just waiting on a bit of paper regarding the service charge and then we can get on with it.....I will keep you informed!

DD gets her mobile phone contract paid for each month in lieu of the season ticket whereas DS tops up himself from his paper round money, so both have an equal amount spent over the course of the year on things that each of them will appreciate.
