and there was no probs using your day tickets ?

fab! we go via eurotunnel using deals :)

but eurostar is fab, went one yr using airmiles and love the fact it gets you straight there,no messing with driving / transfers etc

There were no probs at all (and I have to say I had nightmares about this before we went :rotfl:) The day tickets are a separate voucher that you just hand in at kiosk

Good luck everyone and Thank you to all posters xx

thanks :) hope you do to ;)

a note to anyone with a disability make sure you take with you either a blue badge or a medical note from your doctor dated within the last 3 months as you can get an easy access card so that you can go straight on the rides & don't have to queue to meet the characters ;) i'm glad i checked online as last time (3 years ago) we went we just took my son's diagnosis letter which wouldn't have been enough now.

i'm really peed off with my 9 year olds school!! sent my holiday request form in weeks ago asking for this thursday & friday off for our disneyland trip & they only bothered replying today saying they are denying it & if i take him it will count as an unauthorised absence & i could receive a penalty notice!! it's not like i'm asking for weeks off which would bring his attendance level down loads!!
i wouldn't mind but my 7 year old's school has authorised it & he has had a lot more time off school sick than his brother :(

:( I would still go and let it go down unauthorised,it's only 2 days

it's half term after friday anyway ,and i'm sure whatever he misses ( prob not much) he can catch up on

if my 8 yr old didnt have an older brother in secondary school,we would probably take a few days in term time, like we always used to when he was in Primary school

They won't fine you for 2 days if it's a one off

i'm just peed of that she leaves it until a couple of days before we go to deny his absence! we're going anyway & i have looked it up on line & it says you can get fined with a penalty notice if you take 5 days off in one term which he won't have because it's the end of term friday! his school's headteacher has ony been there a couple of years & the school has gone down hill since she's been in charge with many parents changing their childrens school! i think the way she worded the letter was very rude & i'm going to write back to her telling her as much!
    xx

    you tell her! :)
  • First rule - NEVER tell the school where you're taking the kids.
We told our kids' teachers that we're going away in March, that it was the only time I could get off work, and that the in-laws had already booked the holiday for us.
It leaves the school with no option but to accept.
