One of the reasons I've not been on the site for some time is because there are many on here who use it as a forum for their own small mindedness. People come on to ask for help not to hear right wing views

What is right wing about suggesting that someone who is relatively healthy and has no dependents tries to find full time work?

£125 is alot of money i agree, i am going to struggle to re-think my finances and thats why i am worried.

She's at the age where it might not be long before she leaves home so...

    1) Get used to being without it, even if you still get it..
    2) Charge her board so she gets some appreciation of the fact that it costs money to put a roof over your head and food in your mouth.

My health has worsened over that past 16 months, i have to have shoe inserts to lengthen my leg, i have had nearly a year of physio, and my muscles that support my slightly curved spine are week and keep tearing, which is very painful. I suppose i could just go the whole hog and claim disability living allowance or something along those lines but i dont want to. While i can still work i will. I did'nt realize i was going to be pulled apart when i only asked for advise :(

I can't see any reason why you would qualify for DLA.

Good luck with your search for work.

I am not at all selfish, and i want my daughter to do well and be happy. My daughter gets most of the tax credits back as she gets bus fares, money for her lunch, all her clothes and stuff for college. I have never claimed social security even when i was left with 2 children to bring up. I worked 3 jobs to pay my way and its only part ill health that stops me working full time. I only get what i am entitled to so you have no right to judge me. I have asked for advice, nothing else. If you have nothing constructive to say then please dont post a reply. £125 is alot of money i agree, i am going to struggle to re-think my finances and thats why i am worried.

I'm confused, past posts mention a husband so why are you claiming as a single parent?
  • You have obviously known for a LONG time that they were going to stop shortly anyway. If your daughter is going to continue living with you then perhaps you could start to charge her dig money. You shouldn't be relying on your daughter to be supporting you anyway (which although it is coming from the government is technically what you are doing).

You have no choice but to try and claim DLA or work more hours - welcome to the real world :)

Yes it can but the OP says "I have never claimed social security even when i was left with 2 children to bring up. I worked 3 jobs to pay my way and its only part ill health that stops me working full time" - if the daughter is 18 and she was married 15 months ago she was hardly left with 2 children to bring up as one would have been 17!!
