I am sure this is going to sound daft, but I want to buy a HDD recorder (i think this is what they are called). So that I can record tv programmes, which I have not been able to do for years, our telly is only a year old so we get freeview channels.. does anyone have any advice or know where there are any deals as they seem expensive and I not knowing a thing about them I don't want to get stitched up.
Your help would be brilliant...thank you

I have found this on amazon at £152.99, will shop around at the weekend but this seems good. Daft question can I only play back what I have recorded on the telly that this machine is attached to, i could not sneak into bed and play there on a different telly....can't you tell I am a real novice! these systems differ greatly in price.
Thanks once again.

You can view and compare the features of all available models, side by side, here.

If you record to the PVR then that is where the recording is and you need to replay it from there. You could take your PVR into the bedroom and plug it into the bedroom TV. Alternatively you could use a sender unit or purchase a unit with a USB oulet and record to a removeable hard drive and replay on your computer.0 -
http://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/product.asp?ProdRef=10068&cat=none2 got mine tuesday, ordered sunday @125£ incl del. It's grade A refurb. seems ok so far. TV guide takes awhile to load,so switch on 3mins before recording(BBC seems best for guide loading?)0

If the EPG is slow to load, it sounds like you need to update the software. This was one of the original problems with the 9300T, which the most recent upgrades have resolved. The OTA update is currently being transmitted this weekend until Sunday midnight, so suggest you update it. You should be on 000.23, which is the latest edn.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Can't believe I am still researching, looking into getting the 500gb model now as the kids will want loads recording!
Can someone tell me do humax only do 1 500gb model, the Humax Foxsat HDR500, I have seen different ones on numerous websites but think they may be the same (does this make sense) I have also seen one with a greater capacity than this but were getting in to the region of over £300.0 -
You are looking at the wrong model entirely The Foxsat is a Freesat PVR. I thought you wanted one to work on the Freeview platform?
The 9300T is available in 160GB or 320GB versions. The only 500GB version is the newer Freeview HD PVR:
