    Yup, it's called protesting.
Like the Poll Tax and student protests in the UK.

The Greeks have had it too easy in the past.
    Now the country is skint.
That'll affect tourism, and traders will be dragging tourists in off the street if they want to survive.
  • I went to Kusadasi and would never ever go back! As much as our hotel was fantastic, once you have done Ephesus theres not much else to do.
Altho I would reccomend doing the trip yourself and not booking thru anyone else, we got a taxi up there and the driver waited the other end for us :). Got more time to wander round and it was cheaper!
Hopefully going back to Turkey this year and probably going to Side just because everyone else seems to rate it soo highly :)

Looks like Greece is going to be in a debt crisis for the long haul.
There's one way out of though, and that's sell all the Greek Islands.

i didnt like marmaris due to the hassle from folk selling stuff

i did enjoy doing the day trip to rhodes tho
  • I went to Kusadasi and i absolutely loved it, we went to the water park, pammukale(white hot springs) ephesus and their are plenty of water sports and boat trips.
I believe its each to their own so its always down to the person themself :)

We love Turkey. Icmeler is the place we like best. Its a very pretty resort and you can pop over to Marmaris either by road or boat. I like Marmaris for shopping but would not like to stay there, its too big and busy for us. They do hassle you in Turkey but they are mostly polite IMO. We have been to places where the hassle is much worse.
I love the boat trips where you go out for the whole day up and down the coast and anchoring up in bays for lunch and swimming.
The day trip from Marmaris to Rhodes is a great day out.

Was In Side in 2009 . July was hot and very busy . I think the area out of season must be nice, new promenade . But steer clear of the high st in the evenings , think Oxford St .

Ive been to kusadasi and i thought it was really nice. We did a lot of excursions and stayed in a '5*' hotel in pamukkale and did cleopatras pool and the calcium falls which was great. It depends what you like I suppose. I'm not into busy resorts anyway, I like quieter places and never go to the 'main' resorts of places (ie. I pick los christianos over playa de americas, peurto rico over playa del ingles).

    Kussadasi is an awful place.

We drove through there once (from Turgutreis) & I thought I was in Benidorm, it didn't look or feel like Turkey.

OP, I would steer clear of the supersized resorts & knock it down a notch.

Olu Deniz, yalikavak, gumusluk, just outside Fethiye, outskirts of Turgutreis, lots of lovely places:j
  • We went to Icmeler, which was really nice. Marmaris definitely is "Blackpool in the sun", it's horrendous.
