Well debzmck11 has now withdrawn her bid and one minute later some one else has put a bid in .20p below my highest - coincidence (I think not). Can i get out of this sale without incurring any negs/strikes etc0

I've sent her this question:
Are you aware that your shill bidding on this auction is being awatched and discussed on a forum that considers these matters?
I would advise extreme caution if you are going to continue to shill bid in such an obvious manner.
If you are reported again ebay might well cancel your account and you'll loose all your feedback.
I don't doubt a load of people are going to tell me I shouldn't have but what the hell?0 -
WOW! Prompt and decisive action taken quickly by EBay!!!!
I quote:
Hello,
No action taken.
Your cooperation is appreciated in this matter.
Kind regards,

What did I expect?"If a man says something, but there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong?"0 -
I got the same response - guess that answers my question...... Ebay do nothing!!!!0

shame, but yes ebay seem hopeless. I think i'll send a mail aswell, sooner or later they have got to stand up and realise that this kind of thing ruins it for everyone.
shame i havent got a couple of spare accounts to really bid the item up to silly amounts and then when i'd won mentioned the shill bidding.
so blatant, its sillyListen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
Worth noting that they didn't retract their bid - the seller cancelled their bid (you get the figure under their feedback).
It's a 'nice' way of ensuring Ebay don't get too suspicious about them as cancelled bids don't get counted.
Edit:
In fact you might want to check her current auctions and see how often this seems to have happened.
They promised the earth...and delivered mud. Technically though it did meet the spec.0 -
It's also worth noting that both bidder and seller are in Aberdeen. Could they be related?

eBay's refusal to act on these matters is legendary. We had a similar thread a few weeks ago which was even more blatant. Many of us reported it and nothing was done.
A cynic would say that shill bidding leads to higher FVFs for eBay; I think it's just too much like hard work. Can I help?0
