LAST CHANCE! Any reason why I shouldnt use housenetwork?

Goodluck with housenetwork. We've just sold our house using them - in under a week!
My top tips would be:
1. If there are other properties for sale near yours, consider spending the extra £10 on the For Sale board (or make your own!). Because housenetwork don't advertise in local property papers it may help catch additional local buyers who have already decided to look at properties near you.
2. There's an element of 'you get what you pay for'...Although HN were great at the admin side of things (arranging viewings and getting feedback), I found that when it came to deciding whether to accept an offer i had to prompt HN to ask the relevant questions like how big the chain is, whether the buyer has arranged a mortgage yet, etc. And then prompt again to ask follow-ups based on the first set of answers.
In other words, they're good at marketing on the internet but be prepared to supplement their Estate Agency skills!
That said, they are still good value and I would definitely use them again.
best of luck.

I've just used housenetwork and our house in mid-sale as I type.
1) We bought a board but didn't use it - think it's £30. You can have it if you want to pick it up. :-) (London)
2) Agree with Adam. Their admin is not up too much but then many estate agents are appalling in terms of being secretive, underhand etc and I am happy to do the communication with the buyer directly (via solicitors when necessary).
3) Thought the pictures and floor plan (though total square feet would be a good addition) were very good. He spent a long time here.
4) Flat sold to first viewer - not underpriced - we were just lucky, I guess.
Overall I'm VERY happy and thankful to users of this forum who got me to look at them in the first place. I've saved nearly 8K avoiding an estate agent (London- they don't go much lower than 1.75%). And I work at home so the inconvenience of doing, admittedly few, tours was not a problem.
In essence I think their effectiveness depends on what you are selling. You need a potential purchaser who is dedicated to online searching -the basis of all future estate agency work, no doubt. The board may help but feeding into rightmove etc is the most useful thing, imo.0 -
I'm a FTB and have been househunting for about 3 months now. My extensive experience of local and national high street estate agents in this area (Loughborough) as a potential buyer has led me to decide that when and if I ever come to sell a property, they can all whistle if they think any of them are getting my 1.5%. I can't recall the last time I read property details that were free of obvious errors, the photos are always dire and the way they treat potential buyers is atrocious.
If your house is well presented and priced correctly, the only tool you need to sell it is rightmove, so the most direct route there is the best in my opinion. I've researched the options and would DEFINITELY use Housenetwork if I had a property to sell so GOOD LUCK!!!0 -
well the chap came around earlier to take the photos.
Ive done my blurby bit on the flat and location

keep em crossed - we went for lower than average - as I thought theyd overpriced a bit & want to keep keen
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

I tell you what canucklehead, im not sure where in the UK you are but if you are round my way, and get the same chap I did taking the photos -what a breath of fresh air Instead of loads of hot air :T :T
None of this, we can do this that and the other and making pie in the sky promises, and none of the smarm that unfortunately I found in the other 2 of the 3 EAS that came over to value it.
All in all, pretty impressed so far. And I dont have that feeling of trepidation if I need to contact them, which is a massive bonus as far as im concerned. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Good evening: We're are in East Kent...the bloke coming round is called Dave. We were very impressed with the photos taken by Ian last year and the service provided: apparently since we sold with Housenetwork last spring they have upgraded their site.
Fingers crossed for quick sales!Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0
